First grow...indoor bagseed w/CFLs

Alright guys, recently moved and don't feel like making it known that I smoke so I thought I'd grow for myself :weed:

I really didn't know what I was doing at first so the larger one was started with a 20w growlight (very stupid). So I've been trying to make it bushier by topping it once and now I'm doing some LST. I have 5 26w daylight CFLs and the 20w growlight with some reflective wrapping paper on the wall. The babies are under 2 26w daylight CFLs right now but I plan on doubling that pretty soon and putting up the same reflective material. Right now I have five with leaves and three starting to poke out but I'm pretty sure I'll get at least two more to sprout.

The daylight CFLs produce 1600 lumens and are 6500k.

looks like a good start man! you can put those lights a lot closer to your sprouts though, i keep mine an inch or two away.

Thanks Astral! I lowered the lights and took some new pics, let me know how this looks.

Any other comments/suggestions?

I'm now up to ten seedlings that have sprouted. :mrgreen:

yea that looks good man! all i would say now is watch out for how many seeds you sprout, i kind of went germ happy myself and now i can barely cover the 5 plants i have with my lights (at least the way i like to), and most of them are pretty small still. :joint:

wow our closets look identical in size.. accept i have shit thrown everywhere... really its a mess, soil every where.

looks good man.. nice lighting orientation... just keep an eye on the recycling of the air.. I can see with the fan that you are 'circulating' the air, which is good.. just also try to keep the air 'recycled' as well - get some fresh air in there every day..

It's actually just reflective wrapping paper. I found it at Big Lots but any store that has wrapping paper should have something comparable.

Another thing to watch out for is temp. I know people say it is not that big of a deal with cfls but trust me you can fry a plant if the lights are too close/hot. I see a fan on the area so you should be good, it is just always good to make sure the temp is right. I like 75-85F for mine. Just depends on what the strain likes.

Alright, so this is around day 11 of the new grow. Last night I changed all the plants to a 12/12 cycle (I have no other place to grow and can't light proof the closet). The two ovular leaves on a few of them have turned yellow from something. I have 4 26w daylight bulbs on the 4 smaller ones and 4 soft white 26w bulbs on the bigger one.

I open the closet doors everyday to look at my beauties, will this suffice in recycling the air?

As far as openin ur closet door on a daily basis- yea that works- actually more than you think it would.....
I open my closet door about 3 or 4 times a day- but that's just because I just can't get enough of them......Or what I'll do to regulate my temp is leave the door cracked with the fan on while the lights are on- that way the temp is in check and they are gettin plenty of "fresh" air where it needs to be.........

Now, just one thing, did u raise ur lights up to take a pic of ur plants or is that where you have them set?
If the latter, then I would say you can go a lil closer......IMO

That's where I have my lights set, but I'll prop the pots up on something tomorrow when my lights turn back on. Anything to help my hopeful ladies.

man oh man why did you start flowering at 11 days with not even two nodes present?..id go back to 24/0 lighting and re veg it for another month or your gunna yield a gram or two only if your lucky

I agree and wish I could veg longer on 20/4. Anyway, I already answered this in my post "(I have no other place to grow and can't light proof the closet)" so until I can build a vegging box I have no choice. I do hope to pull around 7 grams off the larger one (first time growing so I really have no clue but I can dream).

But after I get a box built I'm going to use it to veg and the closet to flower and hopefully things will work out.

They are called y-(light) socket adapter, any hardware store should sell them. I got mine at Home DePOT for around 2.20 a piece.

The small ones will still go through a vegging stage until they mature and then they will start to flower. If I can get a box built before they start to flower I may move them over, unless I get enough people on here that want to see how it goes in the current set-up.

Hell yea, I'd like to see what you get from straight seed to flower! If you get a good enough weight, I may do that for my personal stash!
