First time growing since I was a kid Guerrilla growing in the woods on the edge of a farm. I've decided to give it the old college try and do it proper indoor this time. I have decided to build my own LED grow light after a ton of research on the subject. I found some great people on this forum and Ledgardner to help me with that build and I can't wait for my equipment to show up so I can get started. I will be posting a thread on the subject on this forum in the strip lighting section if anyone is interested. I also ran into an Aussie from another forum who is building "Buddies" which are LED's in a housed container with several on a single line. This way you can run the lights through your canopy for better penetration. This idea sparked on me after breaking up with my baby mama and moving out I found my old weed box with seeds I have been saving and forgot about.
My favorite strain I have ever smoked was some Purple God I had gotten about a year and a half ago. I had a QP of it and it was all 7-20 gram buds. They were the most purple and sweetest smelling bud I have ever had. I kept all the seeds from that bag and have about 25 of them left. I decided to go get some Fox Farm soil and starter pots and put about 5 seeds into a paper towel. I also germinated some blue dream, Gorilla Glue and platinum kush, all of which are also bag seeds. One blue dream popped and about half of the other seeds popped. Platinum kush didn't make it. I wound up setting up cups for all of them ahead of time so I just grabbed more seeds and threw three in each pot, thinking that only one would maybe sprout, sprinkled some water and boom, from ~60% germ rate to 100%. I should have left the pots with three sprouts together grow a bit more before transplanting because only one plant that I moved survived. Ive discovered what I did wrong and that was 1, because I put some of them in ceramic pots with poor drainage and they drowned and 2, I put a couple of them too close to the bottom and the roots popped out the bottom of the pot. I also lost a couple because I left them outside and we had a crazy thunderstorm that knocked over a couple of the pots and the plants landed upside down. They were gone before I got home from work and was able to bring them inside. I have since ordered some photoperiod and Autos from Canuck Seeds and also some Autos from Mr. Canuck from Youtube. I will be planting them as well when they come in. Although I ordered from Canuck Seeds about 2 weeks ago and they haven't even accepted my payment yet.
I now have 3 Purple God and 2 Gorilla Glue in good starter pots and they are sitting in the sun. I have two plants that I have left outside the whole time and they are the two bigger plants. The other three are ones that were having issues because of that rain and kept them inside in a window. Better to be stunted than to be die while im at work. I will include pics of them when I have a chance to upload them to my computer and keep you. guys updated on the progress.
