The first one i started growing on the window in some probably subpar soil, was kinda stunted but i have high hopes for this one, even though shes pretty small for her age

These two popped 2nd and 3rd when I got some other seeds from my buddy

This is the first and last one to pop, I didn't think the last one was going to go so i dug er up and seen a taproot and reburied. they seem to be a little more resilient than more people think, either that or they mishandle them quite a bit lol

They look good. Lighting, soil, and nutes? You should look into Nature's Care at your local Home Depot if you are really strapped for cash but want to grow excellenr, organic product. I use it and it just does wonders for me. The nutes are granules made up of organic matter and bacteria (get the 3-4-2 veg, fruit, and flower food) and the potting mix isn't soil, it's coco with sphagnum, yucca, and earthworm castings.

Get that, dolomite lime, organic blackstrap molasses, and some FoxFarm Bat Guano (only thing you will need to order off Amazon unless you want my light suggestion) because it has mycorrhizae and humic acid, plus awesome phosphorus content. That will be all you need for a good grow.

If you want a good, cheap light that really gets the job done, has great quality and a cheap price, get a ViparSpectra 300w ($99) or 450w ($149) Reflector series LED. Great starter light that will give you what you want and will last you without breaking the bank.

What about the marshydro

I have a marshydro 300 and two 25~watt cfls (one of each spec)
when I transplanted the big one and planted the small ones it was into promix with perlite mixed in
as for nutes..13843654_10153540966616650_225172026_o.jpg I got pretty much every thing I need, and know how to use them as i probably went through enough forums and sites in enough time to do an actual grow lol (going with quarter mix of a few things since some new growth was looking kind of yellow it cleared up after)

being "cheap" isn't really an issue, but im also not really going for a break the bank, since it's my first grow. most of the nutes and stuff i got i was able to wait until they went on sale or dropped in price on amazon. plus having prime really helps.

I also want to eventually get another led as i'm only pulling about 200 watts right now. should be good until i decide to grow something more expensive.

also thanks for the reponses. :)

ps. for those who care i got my Ph kit a little while ago after waiting weeks thinking I'd kill my plants with crap Ph..turns out my tap water comes out at 6.5 and remains the same after adding nutes. meh, better to know i guess.

So I am trying my first grow on the cheap. Have a 2.5 ft by 2 ft closet and I am going with white widow auto flowers...do you think the viparspectra 450 will get it done? Do you have experience with viparspectra?

Quick update since the thread was bumped. Transferred the smallest of the 5 into a bigger pot, seen some roots already when i was changing her over. The rest are growing pretty great. The seedlings growth compared to the oldest one is insane, the biggest one was window grown for a few weeks in shitty soil so she was stunted but appears to be making a strong comeback. I have high hopes for her. 20160725_163838.jpg
Nemo (Named because the first set of tri-leaves one side only grew two leaves)

Fairy and Shotgun taking the lead possibly over early bird20160725_163901.jpg
Early bird already growing a 3rd node

Last (but not least) place doing her best. hahah

Unless you set your mother to Veg along with your clones until they rooted up, then yes you would need two areas until they are at least big enough to put into flower as well...but idk what I'm talking about for sure, i just get the alerts to my thread lol

Things are getting cramped in here. The all dreaded transplant day. All the babies had roots poking out the bottom and retained their shape until I put them in place and look happy in their new homes for now.

Wondering how much extra light I'll need in the fortunate event that they all end up ladies, and probably will add either way. Was thinking about adding either a 200-400 apollo light, or another mars/vipar of equal or maybe double value. Thoughts, links, for a Canadian grow newb?

Here they are before transplant

And after with lights adjusted to 18" and 5" (they're higher in this pic)

And a quick one i took of the captain in all her bushiness

One thing I've noticed from a northern perspective is how damn cheap you all got it down in the states. Slap at least 50 dollars to a buck on everything from lights to grow tents when it comes to amazon/ebay and other grow shop sites. Either way I'm going to persevere

Maybe this thread should be moved into a grow journal?

PS I got about...5 feet or less of clearance above the pots how much longer until I should switch over to 12/12? I was thinking after I get back from some out of town work. I'll have my brother/dad water them while I'm gone then see what's up when I get back which will give them...about another 2 weeks give or take. I believe in them to be able to water them with specific guidelines lol no fimming or topping or anything, I dont even trust myself with such things but do so anyways.

Her stem structure so far. Looking pretty symmetrical which I like. Getting a little out of hand for my LST wires, might have to consider trimming up soon.

Nice and buishy. Pretty sure I found some pre-hairs on her nodes, which are growing in intervals now.

Rearranged the closet so the big one get's the CFL and LST'd the small ones.

Growth on the lst'd babies looks alright so far. :)

Decided to let them grow out until I get back from work in about 2 weeks. I'll order up that 400 watt HPS, and add in some more ventilation for the heat. I feel it, this is going to be a fun time boys. (And possible gals)
