First grow, help needed.

Ok, I am on my first grow, all 5 of my plants after 5 weeks look ok, a little bit of yellowing but nothing extreme so I ordered a ph kit and am waiting on that to come on the mail early this week.

A few days ago a friend gave me a Chemdog strain he said was in the 5th week of veg and was hoping I could save. The plant looks pitiful, half of the leaves had turned yellow and fallen off, the existing leaves are small and brittle, and after being under my light for a few days they are starting to go a little black.

I gave it about a cup of water with some nitrogen when it got here because it was pretty dry. I was hoping it would be ok till thursday when the ph kit gets here..

Question is, what does this plant look like it needs to you?

400w MH. They looked about the same when it got here 3 days ago. None of my personal plants look anything like this and they are taller (i.e. closer to the light)

it looks like Nurt burn/ ph in the soil is off and u are getting a locked out

go to the store ......if u are in 1 gallon pots u need 2 gallons of distilled water ( ph is 6 and ppm is 0 )if u have a 5 gallon pot u need 10 gallons......take it to a bath tub or a deep sink put in there and pour the water tho all of it make sure it drains out (no over flowing off top has to go tho soil) ........your plant will wilt some from the over water in 3 days it should start to recover.....what ever u are feeding it cut it in 1/2

So you're saying to flush it out? its in a 3 gallon pot right now so 6 gallons of water.. That seems a bit extreme, though im not questioning you. Should I consider a repot? He really messed this thing up and id like to make it recover the best I can since ill be taking half of the yield.

If it has a decent root ball I'd repot it so you can at the least know what your working with. Looks pretty bad. I wouldnt waste the time unless you really want to keep it going, I'd bring it to health and take cuts to root.

air bags.......if u are 3 gallon move it to a 6 gallon .............they are fabric bags so the roots get air ....and almost impossible to over water in them the extra water goes into humity in the room ....and they have handles on the side for transporting them around

if u are going feeding to increase the over all yeild ppl are sharing with me to do 50 soil 50 prelight....i personally have not done this thinking about it for the next set of sprouts

buddy this is first time.......when u flush it and move to next one make one a controll...(aka just spring water/well water soil) then if u want to mess with nutreints give one 1/4 and other one 1/2 and last one full streghten

doing this will ensure u atleast get something

and yah 1 gallon soil 2 gallon water....this is flushing.....................when u are done growen and about to cut it u need to flush it out so all those chemicals are not in the taste

u pour the right amount of water tho u give it light untill it finally looks like it perked abck to normal then u turn off all light and keep it in complete dark for 48 to 72 hours then u cut it and hang upside down .............ppl that do not do this u can tell the stuff has that off taste

This looks to me to be a Mg def but i will need to know some of your grow conditions (temp, humidity and if you are using RO or distilled water)

you get half the yield for doing all the work? i would just kill it you could start a new one faster then you could bring that one back quit while you are ahead

Was using tap water. Temp about 71 degrees, unsure on humidity but low.. yes only half the yield but my other 2 plants he gave me were free without asking for anything in return and those 2 are growing nicely.....

Since repotting, the plant has severly wilted. I flushed with distilled water as directed and am waiting to see any improvement. So far looks the same as it did 2 hours after the repot.
