First Grow...help, Help!!

I have attempted to germinate 25 seeds the paper towel method. So far, 22 seeds have sprouted and have been planted in coco. 1 has popped through after 1 day. I am hopefully expecting most of them to come through since most sprouted super fast.

My question is....would 1000w MH be too much light for these little ones assuming most will sprout?? I am brand new to this and would appreciate as much advice as I can get. I have access to plenty of grow lights and just need to know what is needed for them. At the moment I have them under 80w CFL.

I would also like to transplant them into oasis cubes or rockwool (preferably oasis cubes since the ph is neutral) and would like to know if that is possible or is it to late since I have already planted them in coco.

Please help!!! I just need to know what kind of light to put them under at this early of a stage and if I can transplant them??

I started my grow under one 50watt=150watt cfl and then transplanted and moved it to more cfls. So I think that would be enough light, but as long as the temp is not too hot i dont see why you wouldnt be able to use all the light you could!

as for transplanting I dont know if that would shock it enough to hurt it, I think my three transplants may have killed them

i dont have experience with MH lights personally, but i have read on here that MH and HPS are too much for seedlings and clones and i can see how that would be true soo i would use some cfls or floro tubes until those little plants are 3-4" tall and then keep the MH pretty far from them and move it down every day, like start at 2.5 ft and lower it an inch or 2 every day till its 1.5 ft away or so, but this is only my suggestion i would wait for some more input

If your going that big get the MH, HPS setup...or else your going to need about 100 cfl's to grow those...lol...probably more

I use cfl's...but i only grow 2 or 3 plants and i use 4 cfl's per plant

for now your better off just starting off with 4' flouro's when starting your seedlings

Sorry....I made a mistake and said I was using a CFL. I actually am using 2 flouro's and each are 40 watts which would make a total of 80 watts.

Would I need to get a couple more flouro's if 23 seedlings sprout? 3 have sprouted already.

Also I am concerned about them stretching. Will the flouro's make them stretch??

yes you will need more lights for that many plants...like i said your better off to go with the MH, HPS setup.

How long should I use the flouro's before I switch over to the MH/HPS setup. Also how many watts from the flouro's should I be using on the seedlings.

yeah defintely use floro tubes for ur seedlings 1 to 2'' away until they get a few leaves when i first started 10 with 2 17 watt floros with no stretching but i would now recomend something with a little more watts, and as long as ur floros cover the area of ur seedlings u will be fine then to the mh and up up and away
