Week 0

Okay, Sworth is pestering me to make a journal even though my setup isn't quite ready yet and he hurt my feelings over it =( I'm not a slag. Nah but seriously he recommended I start one to see if I could get some help on any little niggling issues like the couple I have.

But yeah, week 0 - preparation and final modifications to the design -
1.2x1.2x2m space
Intake - Passive (Will be replaced no more than 3 weeks in with budget intake fan)
Extraction - Pending, bargain 6" 307m3/h if I find the fan can run for extended periods, 5" bog standard fan if not
Lighting - 600 Watt HPS - POWER!!
Nutes - Got the biobizz basics, allmix grow and bloom, along with leaf coat spray for rooting and rot prevention (mixed reviews from others so I just decided to try it) Then we have some pk13/14 for that final sprint and clonex. Really not looking to use additives at every possible stage to prevent complications on a first grow but I'm also trying not to leave the plant going without so I may buy some epsom salts too.
SCROG NET! 1x1m wood, screws and string

Seeds - This is where I need help and anyone who has a clue about cheap plants please help me, I've been thinking Nirvana Misty for its potency, ease of growth and good yield, along with the fact that I can get 10 seeds for under £20, however I'm not quite sure how she responds to topping, which I would like to do to maintain a more even canopy. So if you know how misty responds or know a girl who is similar but can lose the top, please gimme a shout.

Easy rolls - Will they hold up a 600W light from your experience? I know the 600 club is a biggie round here so you guys might know.

Day 2, it begins

Got 7 in cups today, all of which are Berry Bomb from Bomb Seeds, had a lot of really good advice on what to be growing but in the end it was personal taste that swung it along with a little taste for adventure. These seeds don't seem to have a lot of coverage from growing communities because they're relatively new on the block compared to others, and to be honest the same applies to most of Bomb Seeds' range, but so far so awesome.

100% germination rate, it was a little shakey with 2 of them but they just needed a little bit of encouragement. I won't add pictures yet because what you'd see is a cup of soil, not particularly interesting now is it? But I'm going to give the first major update when they start being more than just beans. Still undecided on a few aspects of my grow like whether or not to top them but now that they're in pots and off to a healthy start I figure I'll wait til they're under the net and doing their thing before deciding things like that.

Also decided to make my scrog net 1.2mx1.2m just for a little more support for my plants, figured it was wasted space otherwise since i don't mind crawling to trim them up when they need it

Happy growing!

PS Day 2 up above is actually day 1, today is day 7

Day 7

The two shakey ones never popped despite constant care, along with 2 others that looked pretty shriveled (I expect this is more because of the cheap seed shop I used more than anything) from the word go. As I said I was never really expectant of 100%. Of the six three are doing spectacularly.
I have the first that made it out of the soil which is now steaming along really nicely, it surprised me by showing me loads of its roots through it's 17.5oz (500ml) cup yesterday, and being that it's shown itself to be a strong plant on the grow I transplanted it because I didn't want it to go binding those roots up the second I took my eyes off it.
The second to sprout is doing well too and is just a day or two behind the biggest.
The third however developed some horrible leaf-killing symptoms that seemed to be nute-burn. I was astonished as I don't feed them nutes and then looked around and found some people had similar problems with their runt seeds in bio-bizz allmix (which contains quite a few nutes of its own). Some people even say never to buy it but I wouldn't go as far as to say that, it's done wonders for my bigger seedlings. I gave it a flush to see if I could remove any build-up of excess shit from near my roots and it got better for a while, leaves grew and it looked on the way to recovery but it's once again starting to fade and I believe it may be time to give up on her and just let her go.
Number four began to show signs of going the same way as three but seems to be teetering on the edge of being healthy and letting herself go. After seeing four I'm not completely sure this one will make it but she's still all green for now.
Five just sprouted three days ago and is steaming along, she's looking a lot like a younger seedling #1 at the moment and so I'm really happy about this little one.

They've all been raised under the exact same conditions apart from their position in relation to the light because obviously it's impossible to get the cups in the exact same spot. I can only assume that since these seeds were special offer and the very last pack in stock that they'd been sitting on the shelf a little bit too long. Because of this I couldn't recommend the shop (Will tell people through PM if they want because I only have this one experience with them and refuse to publically slate all of their products when I've only tried one). However this does bring me to the subject of where to go for seeds.

Attitude seem to have a really good reputation and seem to sell at a reasonable price (for the most part) but does anyone have any experience with amsterdammarijuanaseeds.com? they seem to have an awesome 20 free seeds offer going on, but I don't want to buy if they're sub-standard seeds.

In a couple of days when my babies are a bit bigger we'll be throwing in some blueberry clones as well, so the harvest will be very berry indeed. Also I'll be adding pics as of 2 weeks because right now they look just like standard seedlings for the most part, just doing their thing. By 2 weeks I expect some real growth on them
