just looking for any feed back.

bagseed, in crappy MG garden soil, but this was a test run so it was cheap. I got some FF ocean forest soil for the next run. got them under a diy hood made with some cardboard from the box fan I bought for the room and some mylar. hooked 3 y splitters up to a power strip and wire tied it to the hood. right now its under 8 2700k 100w equivalent (23w? I cant remember) and I have 2 42w 6500k on the sides still cause they are brighter. had some issues with heat at first, but now were at a comfortable 79-82 with the lights on and around 74ish during lights out. just flipped them to 12/12 about 5 or 6 days ago, I thought I had 3 girls at first but then one of them showed some balls so I tossed him.

Hard to tell but it seems like there pretty stretched out.. keep those lights an inch or 2 away. Looks like ur Ph might b off or ur nutes from the mg soil..

Yes they were very stretched from sitting in the window, they weren't getting enough sunlight so I guess they stretched bad, since I've had them in the cfl closet the internodal spacing has shrunk dramatically. And I have no idea about pH I don't have a meter. Just hoping for the best with what I've got.

If I were you I'd go look into the plant problems section to get an idea of some kind of cheap nutes to add in there.. ur leaves don't look healthy.. almost like there's too much of something in ur soil. I'm not an expert at fertilizer n stuff so I figured I'd try to point u in the right direction! Good luck man

well heres an update on progress. whole grow has been moved. I'm now in a bigger closet, but temps are an issue again. got a 6" inline fan on the way for exhaust. hoping it'll solve my problems. I re potted one of the girls in a larger pot with some of the FF ocean forest soil. hopefully she fills out cause she was rootbound bad and just wasn't growing for a while.

these were taken today, 14 days into flower.

yeah they just look stretched, mg burns them, don't worry about it, just keep improving and so will your yields.

Before lots of other things, I recommend buying a 1000 watt HID, and going from there. The plants will immediately love you, and hate you at the same time, because you'll need lots of cool air once you introduce them. If it gets really hellish in there water them once or twice a day to combat the heat, and try to make air conditioning and air movement a priority after that. The best soils and fertilizers cant grow a god damn thing without adequate lighting ;)

Actually, I'm thinking about buying a ballast from 1000bulbs.com and rigging it to a hood I made. Can anyone tell me which ballast I should go with? Is it just a regular MH ballast? Also does anyone have any advice on CMH growing?

What are you feeding and how much?
Got some burn there in the last pic.
How come you don't have all the lights on?
With CFL's you want all you can get.
That's why they're kinda lanky and sparse.
Check out my CFL grow from Winter, it also was CFL only, and MG soil and MG nutes too.

Well I was feeding Alaska fish fert once every 3 or 4 waters. At about 1/2 strength. I haven't for awhile now though because of burn.

And they are stretched out because they did most of their vegging in a window that only got direct sun for maybe 4-6 hrs a day. If you look at the smaller girl in my update post you can see there is a lot more growth at the top. That's because she blew up once I put them under a 24/0 cfl schedule.

Also that light wasn't on because it was the difference between 92°F and 86°F. I felt like the heat to light ratio was t worth it.

They are pretty burnt from the Miracle-Gro.
You can always do fair results with CFL lights. I had a buddy of mine who put his plants closely to a wall (3-5 inches? I'm thinking) and taped Mylar film on that side. Needless to say, it actually helped considerably with some of his light positioning and output issues. xD

Have you thought about mixing Miracle-Gro with EWC? Having of course, a higher EWC ratio than the MG soil.

yes after a good bit of reading around here I've decided that my next go round will be a lot better. they'll be under CFL's from day one and I'll be LST'ing and probably topping as well. I started reading about how to grow weed when these plants were about 15" tall already, so I couldn't really LST at that point.

Update:

Plants are making slow progress, this heat wave were having isn't helping. Temps in the upper 80s in the closet, low to mid 90s at the tops :( the girls are definitely not happy. Going to try adding some molasses on the next watering.

Here's one of my setup just for fun: 6" inline fan for exhaust, you can see one 4" desk fan blowing across the tops towards the exhaust. There's a clip on desk fan blowing up at the tops, also two box fans you can't see.... Can't wait for fall and cooler temps outside...

Man I just checked them yesterday but it looks like they've exploded! I added a DIY CO2 generator but I don't think it did that much! The skinny one is going to turn In to one big cola I think and the other one I think will produce a few big buds but mostly popcorn. I'm hoping for a half oz dry once they're finished. Next grow will be shooting for 1 oz per plant.

heres the one with multiple budsites. I'm thinking I'll get 2 or 3 decent sized buds off of her, plus some popcorn. maybe 7grams total.

These are both the second girl, shes skinny and curvy at the same time lol. But I'm hoping for a nice sized main bud on her and the second pic is the three small sites she has besides the main one. I'm hoping for 8-10g from this one.

Hmm I'm also noticing something else now just looking at the pics. sorry they're sideways btw I dunno how to fix that... the first one has obvious nute burn on her leaves while the second one looks a lot healthier. When I re-potted the second one for the last time I put FFOF in to fill it, but the root ball was still in MG garden soil. I guess the roots are loving that FF soil!

temps still high though... 92.8 with lights on and around 86.5 lights out....

You'll have to find a solution to your high temperatures soon man. I would put that at the top of my priority list.

That 6' horrible and so are the USB fans you have, I have the same ones exactly I bought from target and a combination of two 4's and the 6' can barely keep my four cfl setup below 85.
I've just give up, the fans are just too shitty. I completely regret getting them.

Good luck though, I'll be watching :)
