First Grow Ever. LED. Dwc.

Flushing a week from today me thinks. There aren't any orange pistils yet though so we'll see. I am trying to go for a more heady smoke so I want to harvest on the earlier end of maturity. Any ideas about % of orange pistils to white to achieve this? I have a loupe on the way so I'll be able to examine the trichs soon.
 
Okay, got a 60x loupe. Any ideas on percentage of cloudy trichs to amber trichs to achieve a more cerebral effect? I am planning on flushing for a week, at what color should the trichomes be when I flush?

This is my first grow ever man, my "mad skills" are only from cruising these forums and researching the hell out of marijuana growing. I am honored by your compliment my friend.

BTW maybe a dumb question, but I am new to forums, what are QR's? I mean obviously it is an abbreviation but I can't figure it out. :leaf:
 
Okay, so I check the tubs daily and PH has been dropping from 6.0 to around 4.5 almost daily now. I have been cutting way down on nutes to about 300 ppm. The girls have what looks like a tiny bit of nute burn on the tips but not bad. Any ideas what is going on?
 
kBaked you obviously have mad skills. I've never shared this photo before but my very first grow which I unfortunately never had the chance to finish I was using a DWC and Coco experimenting with both. But these were my plants.... I don't remember how far along they were but I know they weren't much better than this when I started flowering. I kept killing the root system in the DWC, I just couldn't figure it out I don't know. But anyways what I am saying is your plants look sick bro, just giving you something to compare to as this was my very first.

From what I have learned in my own grow journal, you want most milky/cloudy trichs for head high, amber gives you more of the stoned feeling and clear doesn't do a whole lot.

those leds make the room look spooky, like an herb haunted house. ph drop is common for me later in flowering due to the plants potassium uptake. potassium has a high ph and as the plants pound it down the result will be ph will drop. yours sounds a little extreme where its dropping 1.5 per day. how do the roots look?
 
Yesterday I brought it back up to 6.0, today it was at 4.9. PPM didn't rise much, 280 to 330. I'll take some root shots tomorrow. They seem okay, possibly a bit brown.
 
are the plants dropping the water level very much at this point? if none of the pistols are turning colors you shouldn't even be considering flushing yet.
 
They are still drinking a decent amount of water, and there are a few pistols turning orange but not many.
 
i would probably pump the tub and put a fresh mix in. if it were me i'd start it at 6.2 and probably be feeding more than 280 ppm. try giving them a 1.0 ec nutrient mix and watch to see if it drops over the next day or two. burnt leaf tips can be a sign of potassium deficiency, especially if the leaves begin to appear burnt down the tips of the jagged edge as well....if that makes sense. i know i wouldnt cut those things down until at least half of the pistols turn at the earliest.

Awesome, thanks for all the help. I'll do another update tonight with some pics once the ladies wake up.
