First grow ever. Any advice?

Hi there. I am about to start on my first ever grow. Ive been reading this site for weeks now and im sure im ready to begin as soon as the seeds come in. Ive done more reading on this site the past few weeks than ive done in years. I purchased some northern lights x big bud autos from herbies that should be coming in in next couple of days. I have some 3 gallon smart pots a couple bags of fox farm ocean forest. I plan on mixing in about 1/3 perlite. I plan on growing outdoors in my backyard in southern florida. Ill start with just 3 or 4 plants. I've read a few different ways to germinate seeds but I was wanting to start them right in the ffof soil so I won't have to transplant. One less stressor for the plants. Some people wrote not to start the seeds in the soil saying it might burn the seeds. What do you think? Since I'm using ffof when should I start the nutes and what nutes should I use? Will veg nutes be necessary? Any help will do and thanks in advance for any help. :peace: J5

Soak the seeds for 24 hours. I then water my pot of soil and then make a hole about the depth of your index finger's nail and put the seed in it. Takes a couple days before it sprouts(just like any method). It works just fine and I find that the plants are indeed less stressed than ones started in Root Plugs and transplanted. It's the way people have been planting seeds for thousands of years.

I might add that reading a few books on the subject will get you prepared for your new hobby in ways that are not as varied and opinionated as those you may encounter here and at other sites.

I offer these as good choice's
This one is very good.

Man this site is hard to navigate. I've been trying to start new post but I can't find it anywhere. Anyways. My girls are three weeks old now and I'm goin to start my nutes soon. I have the fox farms trio and the fox farms soluble trio. The feeding chart is self explanatory but they are obviously for photo and not autos. I'm growing autos and they should be done by the time I'm supposed to use all of the solubles. Does anyone know a good feeding schedule for autos. Thanks. J5

I don't use bottles but I do know that you will want to mix them at 1/4 strength or so. At 3 weeks they should not need extra food yet and you should probably wait till you see some fade starting.

I am sure someone with more experience will chime in with better info...

All u need for autos really are bloom nutes since they only veg for 2-3 weeks, after about 2 weeks of flowering, start feeding, qtr strength n gradually work your way up as you feed. My schedule goes something like this. Water - feed - water with unsulphured molasses and repeat till harvest, which is why i prefer organic, not only do the buds taste better imo, u can feed all the way up to harvest

my advice is . KEEP IT GREEN ! have fun . and learn as much as you can don't over complicate things . with topping and super cropping and all this stuff just get through the first harvest and the next harvest you can worry about that other stuff. I know your head is bouncing all over the place. keep it simple learn the basics learn how they grow . pay attention to the leafs how they are siting pointing toward the lights or falling down droopy. plants leafs tell you what they are asking for. plants are like new born kids or a WIFE ! always wants some thing ,

I am in week nine of my autoflower. Looks almost done i think. The plants are only about 15 inches tall which seems pretty small to me. My plants do not have many fan leaves at all. I will try and upload pics so y'all can check it out and maybe give some advice

Nice buds.. I have one of these seeds. Haven't panted it yet. I thought they were supposed to be taller. I understand they have a strong smell. No neighbor problems?

No problems. They do smell a little but not too bad. I have to be within ten feet or so to smell them but even then the smell doesnt scream out bud. I think the smell is kinda pleasant. Anyways Ill be chopping them in about two weeks.
