First Grow: Dutch Passion White Widow

Alright this is my first grow and I'm doing a closet grow with a 400w metal halide bulb, will switch to hps for flowering. I just got my seeds this past friday and have already started germinating them. I ordered the seeds from attitude seeds and they came in about 9 days and all five of my feminized white widow seeds have sprouted. I got a dna la woman seed and a dna sour cream seed as freebies the la women spouted but the sour cream doesnt look like its gonna germinate but only time can tell. I plan on growing 4-6 plants. I have all the nutrients and im going to follow the foxfarm feeding schedule (http://foxfarmfertilizer.com/soilfeed.pdf) with just a few changes that the hydroponics store guy recommended. Ill be sure to put some pics up soon.

Day One
5 white widows and 1 LA woman

Already had my first problem ha the fan i got from the hydroponics store seems to overheat and shut off after like 10 minutes.

Day 2
LA women looks dead lol. 3 white widow seedlings look pretty good, 1 looks excellent, and the other one looks kinda bad.

Day 3
Well things aren't looking too good, the one seedling that's good looks great, two look pretty good and two look kinda bad and I'm pretty sure the la woman is dead now, but don't really care too much. I forgot all about my DNA sour cream germinating, but looked at it and it did germinate so i planted that now hopefully that will sprout by tomorrow. I think i had the plants too close to the light and they kinda burned so i took them off the shoe box they were on. I just wonder why one looks so good compared to all the others.

Oh the guy at the hydroponics store was cool and gave me a new fan for free even though he said there were no returns or anything for it so that was some good news.

I'm starting to worry that only a couple will make it, but since one looks really healthy i was wondering IF that was the only one to actually start really growing is it possible to just grow that one plant until I'm able to take clones and then plant the clones and let them grow and catch up with that one mother plant and then flower them all at once?

Nice setup man. you should post a pic of actually how bad the seedlings are if your that worried I'd go with the one good seedling and grow it and take clones from her. I don't know if you can grow the clones up to be mothers size then "flower" them all but, im also not a expert. Subscribed! EDIT

thanks man all i got right now is a pic of the one good seedling, but ill get the rest soon.
I'm wondering if most of them aren't doing so well because the soil is drying out so fast from the heat of the bulb and if i should get a dome to put on top of them?

gotta start somewhere.i grew a crop of dp white widow 3 yyrs ago and got massive tops off each plant , a real hash plant, im doin thier bluemoonshine rite now..gd luk.rdr.

dang i hope i get some massive tops ha i guess if i only get like 4 plants to make it ill live. I need to make a second grow room just for the veg stage so i can keep a mother plant just kinda tight on money.

not meanin to hijack yure thread but i get these off multi 2 gallon containers.it doesnt take alot of money, jus a little.once yu gro ya a some premium bud take that money to invest more as yu go. i started witha 400 watt single,,i run 3 sep gorooms now with 1000 watts and 2-600s.not much but it gets me by.also seedling lights dont have to be close ,couple feet.

nah no problem man prefer people to comment, but man those buds look sweet whats that second one? Haha yeah I kinda looked up how far the light should be after i saw they were getting burned shouldve been common sense though. Just hoping they'll recover but if not still got one good one. I'm thinking about not using the 5 gallon buckets, seem too big but i guess time will tell.

wy not set it under the lite in the bucket ,wen it gets about 12 inches pluck the top out and branch it,ina week or two load up on clones and get full crop of white widow..chunk the mom or put it under another light.

If i keep the mother in 18 hours of light 6 hours no light cycle until the clones are ready for flowering and then flower the mother with the clones will this ruin the plant or yield somehow?

Day 5
The DNA sour cream has sprouted and looks as good as the one good white widow. Plants are starting to look better hopefully i can get 3 more good ones out of some of the burned looking ones making a total of 5 plants that I think can make it to harvest.

yu could do that but the height difference was will have yu setting up a prop for the others.its bes to keep them together at the canopy. seeing growth development varies as yu go down the bud,.gd to hear more sprouted.

Here's a couple of pics
The first ones the good white widow, then the good looking sour cream, and one of the burned white widows (theres another that almost looks identical). Does the burned one look like it should be fine and when should i start feeding them nutrients?

Day 8

So it's been about week now and I got two healthy plants and two kinda smaller ones. I guess slightly burning them stunted their growth?

Well here's a few pics, the first is the good white widow, then the sour cream which is looking nice, and the other white widow.

There's one more burned white widow plant that is even smaller than the the slightly burned one shown, but it still growing so i hope it will eventually take off and grow faster.

Only got one pic of the best white widow, it seems to be growing really well.



The Sour cream is doing just as well as the white widow its just a couple days behind. Out of the other two white widow plants 1 is pretty badly stunted but shows growth and the other one is alright.

Alright the good whitewidow plant is growing really fast, atleast I think it is, or maybe its just normal?

I'm wondering if i should be transplanting the plants soon, or atleast the good whitewidow and the sourcream since they're the biggest.

As of right now theyre all in miracle grow potting soil (I didn't want to use mg but all I could get at the time), but when I transplant them I'm going to use foxfarm soil.

This is my first grow so I don't know too much, but does anyone think that my whitewidow plant is or is about to be rootbound, or does it take longer than 10 days for the roots to grow that long?

Okay so I'm thinking my plant has huge leaves and is short cause my light is too close, so I'll be moving it up today.
