First grow!!! Comment if you want...

After a lot of reading and research, I decided to build my own stealth cab. I spent about $70 total.

THE CAB




I went to Goodwill and bought the cabinet itself for $5. I went to Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and a Computer Recycling Store for everything else. I'm just using a windshield reflector for insulation, two 3 in. computer fans for ventilation, one 4 in. ft fan for the plants. For the lights, I just used a surge protector that the light sockets go into directly in the box.


THE LIGHTS

Since electricity can be an issue once in awhile, I chose CFL's and a Reptile UV light, because they are made to replicate the sun's rays. The following picture is the reptile light. I use 3 CFL's, 2 warm-toned 26 watt lights and one 26 watt bright-light (27K).




THE SEEDS

I started my first grow using some bag seeds and they are about 2 & 1/2 weeks along. They are about 3 nodes high and looking good. However, I recently came across feminized chronic seeds. The following picture is a feminized chronic seed that I planted 2 days ago that already sprouted... I don't know the genetics.




NUTRIENTS?


I don't feel safe ordering seeds and nutrients online so I started growing with 65% organic soil, 25% pearlite, and the rest is Seed Starter Mix. During the vegetation stage I have been using MiracleGro. If anyone has any advice on soil and nutrients, I'd appreciate it.


MYSTERY PLANT


This is one on my first plants I planted, it's very small compared to the others I planted at that time and if you look closely it seems as though it has two tops in one. It's creating double nodes and has five leaves coming out of the top. Does anyone know what's going on here?

Looks Sweet for your first grow , im at the end of my first and about to start my 2nd and 3rd ones a few weeks apart , i have the pics on my profile if you want to take a look and get some good ideas on what elce you can do and/or add to your room.

and your mystery plant is an Indica , the way you can tell is its wide leaves, as were a Sativa is a skinny leaf.

Good job with $70 bucks man! I would recommend Fox Farm Ocean Forest for soil. It's a little strong at first, but it lasts a month or so without using any nutes so that's bonus. It's like $17 a bag or so. As for nutes, I took the cheap route and go Jack's veg nutes and also Jack's Flower nutes. Don't remember the price, but they were more than fair and have done very well (you can check my plants in my signature). Your mystery plant is fine. Probably going to be a bushy one!

And CodeWarrior, you might want to do some research on that qoute, I have some Blue Rhino beans and although they're the same strain, 1 was a sativa dominant strain, and the other was an indica dominant strain...both with fat leaves..1 grew tall and stretched a bit, while the other stayed short and bushy...so we have a sativa that stretches when she grows, and an indica that stays short and bushy...yes pure sativa strains are thin leaved, but they are usually grown in very warm climates as they love the heat but they can also take 4 to 5 months to even show pre flowers...
