First Grow, CFLS, How am I doing?

hey guys

first off, the RIU community has been great and a wealth of information to me because indeed I am new to this although a veteran toker. I read a great deal of info on this site before I even attempted to grow.
Here is my first grow. I have 2 100W daylight spectrum CFLS, 2 4ft floro tubes that will be used for when the plants gets taller, some nutes, 3 seeds from a bag and a fan. I know this sounds extremely amateur and bare, but we all have to start somewhere. The plants are about 2 weeks old. I planted three seeds from a bag of some nice heady bud. I know I shouldnt have planted them all in one pot, but I figured its my first time so what the hell its all a learning process. Past few days I started feedin em nutes including B.C grow supplemented with FloraMicro from GH and a drop of superthrive.
Not sure of strain, although plants do appear to be growing more compactly and stout (indica dominant?) correct me if I am wrong

Check out the pix below, lemme know how my plants are doing,
are they doing good for 2 weeks of grow?, any suggestions, comments?

all of you guys have been a great help.

thanks
-fingas

Looks good so far but I would recommend moving your lights closer to your plants. Keep CFLs about one inch from the plants for best results.

Moving your lights closer with help eliminate them from stretching, and will keep short distances between nodes. My plant im currently flowering literally only has about a 1/2 inch between nodes, and that sucker is bushy! One other thing i would keep in mind is that with having the lights that close, you still have to be careful about heat, although CFLs arent nearly as bad as HID for heat, they still do give off heat that can be sensitive to your tops. I would suggest keeping air flow passing between your top portion of the plant and the lights. Its been a plant saver for me.

thanks, i heard things about keeping the CFLS around 1 inch, but I also heard about keeping them higher up, so I didnt want to risk it by burning the plants earlier. If i flowered my plants SOG style, close to 1 ft, what do you think would be an approx yield per plant?..i know there are factors that come into this, but an estimate would help.

thanks

first get those plants in their own pots ASAP!! before roots become entangled, plants look good thou
also consider slowly getting more lights the 26w are pretty cheap and usually come in multi-packs

i dont currently have the resources or the room to transplant them..how bad will it stunt overall growth?

get party cups or even mountain dew bottles like MisterBombdiggitey.
its not so much the stunting of growth but if all the roots tangle together and one becomes a male your Eff'ed! you do too have plenty of room there for 4) 6" pots just get square ones! the sooner the better you'll be kicking yourself later if you dont

..i know about males and females, but if all the roots get entangled, if ones a male they are all males?

check it out by the way, i guess a combination of moving the lights closer adn the nutes (12-6-8) and superthrive, ive had prolific growth:weed:

if i got 2 liter soda bottles and cut them in half, would I have to mask the bottle, ive heard that light is terrible for roots..mayb ill go out and jus drop the few bucks on a few small pots

and btw yea i would say i have about that amount of space..its like a little square..plus i bid on an 150 w HPS with a luminark diamond reflector..currently 31$ +30 shipping, so I thought that was a pretty good deal

id use 2 liter bottles wrapped in duct tape with dranage holes if you get that 150w hps! thats what i got and supplement with cfls!

the roots getting tangled will not make them all males. they are getting pretty big too!
if you use pop bottles ideally you should but this guy https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/132387-fantastic-fluoro-frenzy-252wcfl-grow.html rocks the shit outta 20oz pop bottles. uncovered you can see his roots in all his mature plants
as per your advice, i will transfer them to their own separate pots or soda bottles..just out of curiosity though, what did you mean when you said if the roots got tangled id be fucked if one turned out to be a male?

btw...how many lumens is sufficient for flowering?..the 150 watt puts out 16,000 lumens and each cfl i have puts out roughly 1400..so thats roughly 19,000 lumens..sufficient for 2-3 plants?..hypothetically speaking if they are all female?

thanks man, youve been a great help :leaf:

If they would have stayed in the same pot if you had to pull a male the decaying roots would rot those of your healthy plants, and if you tried to just yank it youd end up killing your plants faster.

my advice instead of blowing $80 on more cfls to flower those plants..

go to lowes or hd and look in the clearance section of lighting you can usually find a discount HPS or MH security light i got my 150w HPS light for 30 dollars thats as good as the ECONOLIGHT deal. for your size even a 70w hps light will do!

(sorry i checked the websites and they dont really have much. but if you go in i'll bet they'll have a complete setup for ya around 30-40 dollars)

i use a cheap desk fan from wal mart to blow over my light and it works as well as any cool tube i can touch the light and its just warm! look at my pics in the sig if you need a visual reference

http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10051&langId=-1&catalogId=10053&productId=100081599&N=10000003+90401+500524 to maximize efficency id get this fan and make a small box about 4ft high with this as an exshaust up top
for the bathroom fan $10
HPS/MH 70w-150w $25-$40
a box.... $???
still prob cheaper then geting the 6-8 42w(150w eqv) bulbs from anywhere but online

sorry for such a long response but i feel bad because i was gone for so long anyways hope this helps

as per your advice, recently transferred the 2 biggest plants to their own 3qt pots. I gathered some ideas from the hempy bucket system and put the plants in 100% perlite and drilled 6 1/4" holes in each pot, 1 inch from the bottom to create a reservoir for hte plants roots to stay in

the 3rd plant i left in the soil for now, i also pruned the 2 biggest plants, the 4 original fan leaves on the first, and the other 2 fan leaves on the 2nd
