First Grow - CFL

I'm at 5.5 weeks veg here on my first grow. Currently recovering from some really bad nute burn a week to 2 weeks ago. Very tight nodes, which I think is good from what I've read about the stretching during flowering and bud size? Also have some pretty crazy leaves, I think, with blades coming from the center and most leaves being 9's and 11's. Yeah when you put your plants into flowering they can double sometimes triple in size. Depends on the strain. When my plants go from vegging under Floro's to flowering under a HPS light they explode. I had a widow triple in size on me once. I wasn't able to move my light up anymore. It was as far as it could go.

Thanks!!! I'm honestly not sure what the perfect size is, but I'm super excited about how it's growing and am trying to be patient.... patience is Not one of my strong points =).

I personally like to see short, bushy plants rather than tall lanky ones. And I'll second you on the patience thing! I was impatient enough on my last grow and then had to start all over again cause it was a male!! Talk about testing your patience lol. Even started a thread about it once haha:

what kind of pot is that? looks like one for outdoors ...coir pot, is not always the best for mj...i had some that had a hard time growing through the fiber into new pots.

red i think is fabric, around ...leading me to believe op is a female...lol
 
I have 3 25 watt daylight cfl's on it currently. 1 from above, 1 angled, and one completely horizontal. I also rotate my plant daily to even out the distribution of light from the different angles. I also am running the lights 24 hours a day. The plant is growing in a 5 gallon coconut liner.
 
I think the red you are seeing is the horrendous carpet in our rec room! LOL - I moved it from the windowless basement room into the rec room just to take some pics.

i see ( 5 gal ) wow...didn't know it was that big.

why are you running lights 24 hrs...is it an auto strain...if not best if they get to rest, even 20/4 or 18/6

Do you know the color of the bulbs (6400k, 5000k?) I'm using 4 26watt 5000k's on my girls for veg and plan to switch to 2700k when flowering.

Hahaha, I had dark red shag in the basement of the last house we rented, hated that shit so bad!! lol

Thanks man. I just started the blog not to long ago. But I will be updating it regularly. I will be doing articles on growing, and even have some tips and tricks articles.
I plan to get my blog very popular. I want it to be the one blog all marijuana growers and smokers go to. I am in the process of creating a facebook page too. So if you guys
go to my blog make sure to subscribe so you can be notified when new content is published. Eventually I plan on having contests and giveaways for the contest winners. When I
start that you don't want to miss it. It might be a good month or so before I start doing that. First I need to get my blog out there and get more readers. Then I can start with the
contests and stuff. hopefully the facebook page will help it.

Hey maybe when your girls are budding you can have them featured. I am sure they will come out nice. Bet you can't wait to start flowering, or better yet when you harvest.

Are you going to be flowering with those lights too? Or do you have a HPS light to put them under for flowering. Because honestly if your going to use CFL's for flowering your going to need a lot more then that.
CFL's are great for vegging though. T5's work great.

Lights run 24 hours a day (again I am impatient!) Pot is a 5 gallon coconut liner... thought this would be good for MJ :/ ? LOL - The red is the horrendous carpet in our rec room!!! Female yes =) ... but there is no denying how awful that carpet is! The plant grows in the room next to our rec room since it has no windows, I figured this would be good for when I switch to 12/12 for flower.
