It's not a Package deal...
That's just how much it works out to be....
the light is a 150watt hps Sun System 2 --$80
and the tent is a GrowLab 60 --- $100

If you don't care about smell.. Just a fan is fine.... as long as the vents are open....
Since the tent is only 20 Cubic feet... And you only have to exchange air every 3-5 min.
That would mean you need a 4cfm fan for every 5 min, and 7cfm for every 3 min... Even for the air to be exchanged every Min. its just a 20cfm fan...
I have actually taken computer fans which are like 100-200 CFM, and jimmy-rigged them inside pieces of ducting and put those inside the vent holes to exchange air.. They work great....

I also make my own strains, as well.... Its a lot of fun...
So i could imagine breeding animal's is too....

But i suggest you grow for a lil while before you start thinking about that....

Ya I'm using 3 120mm pc fans 2 exhaust 1 intake and a small desk fan inside.
If its gonna be that cheap ill be changing things up completely my next grow for sure!!

Oh ya I get what your saying bro. And if I would of seen those prices that what I would of done. The cheapeast I found were like 150 before shipping. My local hydro store usually only has higher end stuff that's a lil exspensive. 250 and up just for a light. I'm sure now that I think about it they could maybe order something along those lines at that price for me and see what's up. In reference to the setup you explained. But were a couple months away from that yet. Imma focus at the task at hand.

That all depends on if your doing a hempy bucket soil or hydro setup. For hempy buckets though. More and more people are using 100% coco & others 100% perlite. But there's still a lot of people still doing hempys with 75% to 25% perlite to vermiculite. I can't really recommend anything either way as this is my first grow.


What I can say is read read read. And if there's something you don't get or understand ask someone with experience. Whatever setup your gonna use try and find someone who's run the system a lot read their threads then ask question. Best advisei can give at this point sorry. Good luck!

Using just "Clay Balls" (hydroton) in a Passive Hydro setup isn't feasible... They don't hold water for long periods of time.. So you would have to water it Multiple times a day... No matter how dedicated you think you are, It's just not gonna happen.... In a Hempy Bucket It might work, but whats the point of experimenting on your first shot out the gate. Go with a Proven Hempy medium like Perlite, Perlite:Vermiculte Mix, or Perlite:Coco Mix....



I would always recommend Soil for a First time grower, Better yet go 100% organic with a "Super Soil" mix, and You will never have to Mix Nutes, check PH, or PPM's... Just water with plain water the entire time.. And you will have great Grade A fantastic results..... And they will taste, and smoke fantastic too...

Subcool's is the Easiest.. And is actually very effective... (I have used it a lot, pretty much the same recipe only differing slightly...)

5 lbs. Fish Bone Meal 3-16-0
¾ cup Epsom salt
1 cup Sweet lime (Dolomite)
½ cup Azomite ( Trace element)
2 Tbs. powdered Humic acid
*** If using an RO system add in 1/2 cup powdered Cal/mag " - Subcool

Wow that's a lot of soil! How long can you save soil like that without using it?

You don't have to make the full amount..
you can just make One bags worth... And toss in a lil of each... (do the math)
Let it sit for 2weeks - a month then use it...

Pretty sure it can last for a Long time.. Months, if not longer...
I dont know if it gets better with age, or worse.. I think better though.... Read through the Thread and im sure this question has been asked and answered.....
Ive got some that's been sittin out for atleast 2-3 months.. and im gonna use it eventually...LoL
