First grow and not sure about defoliating

Hello Everyone, this is my first grow using hydroponics DWC. I'm growing Mataro Blue and just hit 60 days veg so today I decided to start flowering with 12/12 light cycle. The only thing is every picture I see of other people's grows the leaves are sparse and you can make out most of the branches; mine is super dense. It seems healthy throughout but it's just so thick that I'm not sure if I should trim at this point or just let it do its thing. I just want to make sure I won't stress it out but on the other hand I'm not sure if having so many leaves will take vital nutrition away from the buds. Any tips are much appreciated.

Yes trim that bush. Let some light into the other nodes. You can trim a ton of fan leafs off on day one of flower and no later than day 21 of flower that would be the final defoliation. Or maybe you can LST to open it up some if not no light will get past the canopy. Just from the pic the plant doesn’t look all that happy either the leafs should be praying to the light but if the pic was taken right before lights out it may be tired and needing a rest. You can remove a lot of the lower stuff that will just be larf anyway. I would trim it up a lot and within few days you will have a ton of new leaves but they stop producing new leafs after 21 days from flip. I’m no expert so you may want to do some research before you do the trim. This site or YouTube will give you a good idea of how to manicure it for best yield
