First Grow advice

Okay, so i have been lurking the forums for a great while now. I feel the time has come to start putting into motion a little idea that i have, and looking for guidance from the rollitup community. Granted this is my first time, so work with me if my ideas sound a little crazy

Inspiration:
This is what i am aiming for in terms of size, and exactly what he used: 15"L x 15"W x 22"h
Lights used: 2 23 watt 2700k CFLs (flowering), 1 23 watt 6500k(Veg)

This was his Yield:

He used a auto-flowering plant and i want to do the same thing.

So the questions are:

1) Can i mimic this setup and be successful?
2) Instead of using soil, can i do a mini hydro setup? Like this, but on a smaller scale so that it fits into a cab of that size?

3) Can i implement the SCROG/SOG method with this entire setup?
4) Would This idea work, and has it been done? If so could you link me to some threads?

Thanks!

okay so the answer to all your questions is definitely yes...let me work on getting some links for you. things to consider if using a ScrOG in a small space and DWC is how youre gonna move it around you know for flushing an such

https://www.rollitup.org/aerogardeners/320518-my-first-aero-garden-my.html......they have a smaller aero garden that the one in that grow....an aerogarden would be perfect for what want!

https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/374251-my-diy-dwg-grow-cabinets.html....here is a small ScrOG grow

and BAM this one is GREAT https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/311054-variety-grow-perpetual-mini-scrogs.html

hope these help good luck and let me know how it goes

Thanks for the links, but those are all way to big, is there anyone who has a micro scrog&hyrdo setup that they use for autoflowering strains? That fits into a the said dimensions?

all those dwc setups are is a tote from wally world lol i build them all the time just go down to wal mart and go through there long ass isle of totes find one that suits you amd your space domt forget the lid!!!! now just cut the holes for the net pots and i like to use the aluminum tape from wal mart as well on the lid for good light reflection up under the plant now for the water changes i don't ever worry about that just get amy kind of submersible pump whem you want to do a water change make sure you have a five gallon bucket on hand amd a hose to connect to the pump drop it in the dwc tote run the hose out the lid into the five gallon bucket turn it on and in a few min your tote is empty and in aother rez dump that out then put your new water put nutes and ph it then reverse the process easy water change you could easily do this if you wanted.

What is the minimum size requirement for the hydro bin? If i wanted to do 5 diesleryders in a bin this size: 14-3/4" x 10-1/8" x 5-5/8" h, could i fit them?

OurMensShoeBox_xl.jpg
Im just wondering how deep the basin has to be to do hydro?

If thats not deep enough how about this, ignore the top box, just using the bottom box. Size: 15-5/8" x 13-1/8" x 6-3/4" h

Will that be able to fit those 5 plants, and be deep enough? I figured i could use 2" net pots like this:211110.jpg with one on each corner and one in the middle.

i have seen as small as 1 gal deep water cultures just keep a eye on the water level probably going to have to add water daily in a tote that small and if its clear be sure to aluminum tape the top for light penetration. if it was my project i would go with the tote on the top with the shoes in it and the 2" net pots i would only do 4 plants at first and see how it goes then five should work good though

and for this system you dont even need the feeder lines to the pots way to intricate for me lol as long as my roots are all the way in the water with some good oxygen pumps i dont need any of that stuff i got my air pump from pets mart (twenty dollars) my tote from wal mart(seven dollars) and air stones from pets mart too(five dollars each)

So all i need is the for the roots to be in the water? what do i do when they are seeds then? How do i get water to them?

well when i use seeds i germinate them in a bag with two paper towels untill they come out of there shell then they go in mini rockwool cubes and in my humidity dome till they get a little bigger then for the first little while i like the water level in my tote to be where the rockwool in the net pot is kinda in the water so it keeps the rockwool damp the bubbles from the oxagen pumps aid in this as well

i mix mine before putting them in the rez in a different bucket usually a five gallon bucket from home depot then just pour it in the tote makes it easier for me one part nutes are easier to use for new comers to hydro make sure you have good water as well

Okay so i took a quick trip to the store and heres my setup so far.....

Pump used: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture-5-15-Gallon-Single-Outlet-Aquarium-Air-Pump-1-ct/10532632

5 inch airstone used: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Aqua-Culture-Bubble-Aquarium-Stone-1-ct/10532630

5 Gallon tote

IMAG0084.jpgIMAG0083.jpgIMAG0082.jpg

So to finish this bubbleponics knock off all i need is:

Water pump
Way to split the waterline and feed 4/5 baskets
4 or 5 Net baskets (2/3/4 inch?)
Hydrotron Grow Rocks
Rock wool

If you could recommend a good water pump and a way to divert the water being pumped into 5 lines so i can have them sent to the baskets that would be great!

C&C welcomed.
