Hello everyone!
I'm pretty new here so I'd Just like to take a second to say 'hello' haha. My names Kodie and this will be my first grow.
Currently I have 3 seeds that i started germinating 5 days ago.
One seed is Original Amnesia and the other two are Durban Poison.
So far all three seeds have sprouted out of their shell very nicely but the Two Durban poisons don't seem to be quite ready for a transplant.
I have a pretty good method for germinating the seeds that I only just recently started using. I originally had the seeds in moist paper towel and then placed into a stir-fry pot (A Wok) with the lid on it and then placed underneath my sink.
Now after reading some threads that suggest a heating pad for better germination and sapling growth I got the idea to simply grab my space heater, crank down the temperature on it and then place the wok on top of it.
So far it seems to work great; The conditions are very humid and mildly heated (probably just under 90Degrees F)
It has really provoked the seedlings to sprout and stretch out a lot more, hopefully they will be ready for a transplant by tomorrow.
Okay, so while the two durbans are still germinating, I went ahead and transplanted my Amnesia; Considering it was ready.
I took a plastic party cup and cut grooves all around the bottom for water run off and then cut three larger holes to allow the roots to grow through and let me know its time to transplant once more.
The Cup was filled with a seed starter specific mix that is mostly peat-moss mixed with a few low percentages of organic nutrients.
I then watered the starter soil down with some tepid water, poked a small hole about 1/8th in diameter, and placed the babeh into the soil an covered her up.
After covering her up I ran some more tepid water through the cup and then placed the cup under my lights and infront of my heater fan.
I will be posting photos of the grow and Im looking forward to you guys commenting and hopefully giving me some advice since this will be my first time.
My lights are just basic florescent lights in a 4foot long ballast; it's putting out 5800 Lumens.
About two weeks from now I'll be buying a HPS ballast and bulb to give an extra 16000 Lumens (maybe only 7000. haven't decided what HPS wattage I want).
Take in mind that this grow room inst done yet, i am progressively adding to it as the funds become available. My next addition will be either mylar or white matte paint.
