Thank you sandmonkey. So far I'm real happy with the setup , thanks a lot. I've been only using tap water until the last feeding that I've lowered it to 6.4. I'm using Advanced Nutrients PH Down.AWESOME first grow! Looks great so far.
Subscribed, and as I will be upgrading to a Dark Roo 120 and a 600 HPS, I really like your setup
What pH are you using to feed them? are you using anything to lower the pH?
One hell of a ride! They are already passing the tomato cages, hahaha. Hope they don't stretch too much more .The girls are looking fantastic, and yes you are in for one hell of a ride as these girls fill out in the weeks ahead.
Transpiration induced mold? I've been noticing that sometimes leafs that are together are wet, is that what you are talking about? Do you have any advice with trimming leaves and pruning, I want to cut the lower leaves but not sure what to cut exactly and why.and you can trim off excess leaves that could lead to transpiration induced mold or whatever.
Thank you so much for subbing along I appreciate having experienced growers help me out with this first grow.if oyur having condensation in your tent already your gonna be prone to mold, add a regular house fan in there to blow air around i always hang em from the ceiling..
for your first grow, your sittin pretty i always say if you get something to smoke the first grow then its a WIN. im subbd and as RONSWANSON said theyre in the stretch.. typically the plants will double or triple in size, but the node spacing stretches ot a little bit your gonna just have to stay on top of airflow issues if you dont want mold... in my opinion you should crank up that vortex almost half way and have a fan in the corner blowing around in there like this
From everything I've read they say once you flip to flower, don't prune unless it's for health reasons. You need to do all that during veg and right before flip. Any stress is just effort put into recovery instead of being put into the flowers.I haven't cut a single leaf off the plants, should I start pruning the plants? Is their any rules I should follow? Kind of blind with this topic seams to be very "controversial" hahaha.
If your gonna "defoliate", you should start in early veg.. cut off big fan leaves that "shade" other nodes.. but id say its too late now, however it wouldnt hurt to remove some of the bigger fan leaves towards the middle and tops that are creating too much shade. Another popular technique "lollipopping" should also be done before flowering.. but i think what you can do now is remove all the little nodes and branches on the bottom third of your plant.. this will help you later on by preventing a bunch of small useless nugs and a ton of extra trimming time.I haven't cut a single leaf off the plants, should I start pruning the plants? Wow, thank you for all this information Sebulba! I am overwhelmed right now ... Well first of all, I have not been letting the tap water sit over night, I actually let the water sit over night once but it got so cold that I didn't want to shock the plants, is this something I should consider? Ok, most of the products you are explaining are to be mixed into the soil? "Fulvic acid, myco and beneficial bacteria and kelp? Or is the kelp only foliar feeding? I am completely ignorant when it comes to foliar feeding have not read anything about it! I am kind of overwhelmed with this beneficial bacteria but I am really interested!Lookin like they had a bit of a rough start but are looking purdy now
Do you let your tap water sit out overnight to let the chlorine evaporate?
couple things i can suggest for you is myco and beneficial bacteria for your soil.. what these do is they live on your roots and add more surface area to the roots, allowing them to suck up things from the soil more effeciantally.. the point of adding molasses to your plants while they are flowering, is to feed these beneficial bacteria.. because as your plants are in mid flowering, they stop feeding their sugars to the benefecial bacteria, and use them for themselves to make flowers.
also , have you heard of using kelp as a foliar spray? it is an excellent supplement.. it contains a bunch of natural plant hormones and stuff to make your plants explode.. its best used as a foliar spray
and last but not least.. fulvic acid. this stuff "binds" to the stuff in the soil, and the plant can uptake it much better, and also can be moved around in your plants cells much easier and faster. if you have a "living" soil.. one with the myco and beneficial bacteria in it.. you dont really have to adjust your PH.. these little buggers do it for you. you can spend hundreds on supplements to get these, but here is a great website i found called kelp4less that has them in water soluble powdered form.. instead of buying myco madness from humboldt nutrients or pirhana from advanced nutrients, you can get this for $20 and it makes gallons upon gallons upon gallons of it check it out http://www.kelp4less.com/shop/endoecto-myco-trichoderma-bacterial-inncoulants/
as for the fulvic you can browse their site and find it, as well as a bunch of other things that nutrient companies bottle and put a picture on the bottle and charge 50x more for
for the kelp.. this is the stuff you need to get. make sure its the Ascophyllum Nodosum!! this shit is no joke ! http://www.kelp4less.com/shop/kelp/
alright im done typing this xan bar is kickin in lol.. good luck to you on your flowering !
So as of right now I should just remove smaller leaves and branches on the lower 2/3 of the plants? Next time I'll try to keep it more organized and prune earlier in veg. these ladies are really getting out of hand. Question, I know that having smaller useless nugs is a pain in the ass to trim but if I would be interested in trying to make some bubble hash would it be ok to leave the lower branches or is it just counter productive in your opinion?but i think what you can do now is remove all the little nodes and branches on the bottom third of your plant.. this will help you later on by preventing a bunch of small useless nugs and a ton of extra trimming time.
these are to be used just like your regular nutes, add about a teaspoon or so to each gallon of water, and use once a week. the fulvic and kelp can be used as a foliar feed. They say that the kelp works 8-20 times better sprayed onto the plants, but you gotta dilute it more. I'm new it it also but there's tons of info on here just search it up. if you do foliar feed though, make sure it's like right when the lights go off, or take them out from under the direct light as this can cause your leaves to burn and cause little white spots all over. The water acts like a magnifying glass to the sun or artificial grow lamp.Wow, thank you for all this information Sebulba! I am overwhelmed right now ...
