My grow tent that is 2'8"x2'8"x5'3"..400 watt HPS..Organic Nutes + soil:eyesmoke:

Trust me, I did my fair share of reading on this and am pretty confident with what I have so far.

Lighting
3 26watt 6500k cfls
400 watt hps with cool-tube

Ventilation
4" 170 CFM inline fan used to suck air out of the cool-tube.
I do not have an intake yet but will be getting one soon.

Seeds
I germinated THC BOMB + Mazar from marijuana-seeds.nl

Nutes
Fox farm GB,BB,TB
Earth Ambrosia, Earth Nectar

I germinated the seeds about a couple of days ago, and still have many that are in the process.

I placed these in my tent, in little plastic cups covered with a baggie to induce humidity. Out of the 6 that I have in there only 2 have sprouted.

When most of them are done sprouting, I will be slapping them on the 400watt hps that I have connected to my cool-tube for the rest of the grow.

Oh, and btw I have a bunch of reg. seeds, so I just put them in a towel and will be germinating the best two out of those as well.. I just want 3-4 female pants when its all said and done.
Suggestions/help/and advice is always appreciated.bongsmilie

How does it look?
IS MY SET UP GOOD FOR BEING IDEAL FOR THIS 400WATTER?
And when should I use ventilation inside the tent to circulate the air?

dude, i used a method similar to that and guess what, it sucked bad results, seeds like darkness get them out of there, you will get 2-3 out of 10...you want atleast 8 out of 10? moist paper towels and 2 dishes...i seen a video using ziplock bags on a window sill it sucked for me....the old fashioned way is the bestr trust me

I already been past that argument and came to this:

In nature germinated seeds that are in the ground get sunlight shined on the soil so it wouldn't hurt if it was like this. My questoin is when should I slap my 400 watter on there, and what kind of pots should I use due to my limited space?
Thanks

did you run the 400 for a temp test yet? Im curious what you will get. I have a 2x3x5 and use a 450 cfm on my filter and a 650 cfm on my light and i hold around 79-84.

Thats a good question. I did run the temp test BEFORE i hooked up my vent system. It ran 87F. I was pissed but understood sooo I bought the fan and exhausting duct. That got me down to 78-82 degrees. After I get the intake bringing fresh regular air it will go down a little bit more.

I live in the mid-west (gets cold in the winter) so i doubt it will be a prob trying to keep it cool, my room stays at 70F

I have a cool-tube though and the fan is sucking out air from it. Heres a picture I just took for you to see what I'm working with.

First picture is my 170cfm fan exhausting nothing yet. (temps at 80F)

Second picture is my 400 watt hps in the cooltube being ducted out the top of my tent.

Third picture is a 3 foot ruler measuring the distance between the light and plants.

Im jealous, i could keep my closet temps down with an inline that size, ambients was 75, w/o exhaust was 92 w/ exhaust its was like 82. Good luck, i would wait till they had a few nodes before i used the 400w

I'm building a similar set up to this. But would it work to use 6 23W CFLs instead of the HPS?

Seems like it would be more convenient to just do that?
