First Grow 2x2x4 Tent

I think you're pretty good here.
Sometimes it's best not stress 'em too much and patiently let 'em ride.
The next thing worry is drying.

My only drying area will be the tent. However, I've only got 1 tent and I think the Purple Lemonade is going to be ready before the Cream Cookies.

Current thinking is cut whole plant into big branches with no trim and hang over the light.

However, I know this is probably going to dry too fast. Any other advise?

Can't you just get another 2x2x4 and stack it on top of the grow tent?
Then simply take the exhaust of the drying tent and make it go into the intake of the other?
So your grow tent basically is sucking in air through the drying tent.
Been there done that, it works and you at least don't expose your drying plants to light+heat.

Great idea!

I wouldn't fit another tent in there but I could get a large tote or cardboard box.

Any idea what size box would be needed to dry.

Weather looks to be turning against me with humidity increasing now.
Tent is currently running at 58% but had it down under 50% for the last few weeks.

If I can get to harvest time without rot then it should be great drying weather.

Can't even fit this one or similar on top of yours?

That's 60x40x60cm or ~2x 1.3 x2 ft could be the perfect size for drying your stuff.

Shit bro, that just made me realize I need to figure out where I'm gonna dry my auto while the photo is still finishing.

I do like the idea of mini tent, But You'd need to have good negative air pressure(walls suck/bow in when you zip up tent) in the main tent to really move air through 4"ducting from a neighbor tent(drying tent). Not to mention then you gotta get a mini dehumidifier or something to help regulate the rh in the drying tent. bongsmilie

EDIT: Thing that sucks is I have a quality, size of an end table, dehumidifier. It can select specific humidity levels to kick on for. I always used 58% before, worked out great. But I honestly can't find a mini dehumidifer or humidifier(my place stays at about 42% humidity) that allows specific humidity or even range settings. :wall: - And then...in a small tent, if you have to use a humidifier like me, then you have to be wary of the buds closest to the humidifier might get moldy. Yeah I'm thinking 110% that a larger space is needed than the small tents to dry properly.

EDIT 2: aH-HA! Of course the grow light companies would be making fancy tent humidifiers with specific settings! Just type in a typical cannabis gear company name and "humidifier" or "dehumidifier" and you'll find what ya need. That's my plan anyways lol.

if you have a good ventilation in your grow room it will be almost half of that if you have 2 open shafts in your tent for air ventilation, no?
the drying tent would have smaller shafts so it would give a little resistance to the system, but not much.
And if its filled, if you don't use a humidifier like I did, takes about 10-12 days and it would be pretty much ready for curing.

My background temps and humidity and close to spot on for drying.
60% RH and about 18c/65F

My main worry is the smell, main tent has good negative pressure so thinking ducting connecting up box/tent would be enough to create negative pressure there as well.
And draw the smell into the main tent where I have the filter.

All advise on when to chop would be really appreciated.

It feels way to early so I must be misreading the signs?

Wait another week or two and see. Maybe start flushing somewhere inbetween.
Does this look like normal fade or something I need to worry about.

Should I start to cut the leaves that are fading away or are they using that for the nutes they need.

I wish I had the experience to tell you. Though you're on day 62. End of Week 9. Most auto's I've heard are advertised as 8-10, up to 12 weeks. Most people I've read experience another week or 2 than advertised.

With that in mind, looking at your girls. Some of the purple cola's look decently fat. Granted quality fresh potent bud regardless of size for me is a win, but I would hope to see some of your budsites fatten up a little. IDK how many weeks your seeds were advertised to take, but another 2 weeks in my eyes.

I wouldn't remove any leaves. Though more experienced growers are most welcome to teach me/us otherwise at this stage of flowering. The yellowing on all fan leaves is a little concerning to me too mate. Especially if you need another 2-3 weeks to fatten/trich's slightly amber.

I'd post your girls in a new thread under general or grow issues, for more broad advice. Looking forward to seeing your harvest day growmie!!

Got some slightly better picture of the trichomes.
Cream Cookies is coming on a bit quicker than I thought.

No that many more white pistils and starting to see woke amber trichomes.
Don't look at the trichomes on the leaves. Check the Calyx. FB Purple Lemonade was a staple in my garden for a couple years. It was a consistent 75 days from seed breaking ground to harvest. However, I'm sure environmental factors will play a role for each grower. My guesstimate is your PL is a couple weeks out. Your CC seems to be finishing up a lot quicker.

Cream Cookies looks like it is done but the Purple Lemonade isn't fully ready.

However, I want to harvest both at the same time as want to dry them in the tent together.

So going to flush both for the next week and then harvest both at the same time.

What do people think?

If I had to force myself to harvest at the same time I would give it at least another week for the PL. The CC does look ready but I personally think an extra week is less detrimental than harvesting the PL so early.
Going forward your going to need a long term solution if your growing auto's. An option that I've used is drying in brown paper sandwich bags. I take a large box and cut an intake and exhaust hole for a couple small fans. I wet trim the buds and lay them flat in the paper bags and seal them. The end results are surprisingly good with this method. No hay smells or harsh smoke. Honestly nobody's noticed a difference between traditional drying and this method. If you get crafty I'm sure you can rig the exhaust to go into your tent. Honestly the only reason we don't use this method anymore is my wife doesn't like to wet trim. I don't ague with the trimmer, they need to stay happy.

Yeah it likely isn't the optimal choice but I think it should be ok.

For my next grow I think Im going to get one of those Herbs now dryers, probably not a perfect dry but seems like it is good enough and probably better than a poorly controlled environment which is what I will have.

Here is a great little tool that I found. I think someone posted it here on RIU. VPD Calculator for Drying Cannabis . The herbs now dryer sets off alarm bells to me. I've been googling it since you posted about it. Did you find some good reviews for it ?
