First grow 1wk 3 days, pics, description and a couple of questions

Hey all,:bigjoint:
a month or so ago I was hitting the bong and it hit me... i should be growing my own weed instead of paying for it!!!! I went online and stumbled upon RIU and ive been reading since. The first thing i noticed was that there are a bunch of nice people who are willing to help newbies, which is nice for a change, and im glad to be a part of the community.I didnt want to post till i had something i could show you all so i waited till tonight to say wassup:leaf:

Im growing 4 seeds from some nug ive gotten in the past year or so. Im going to veg and flowere with a 150 watt hps and im using Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil. The plants all sprouted the same night and are 1 week and 3 days old. They are in plastic cups that have holes poked in the bottom for drainage. There is a bigass pot inside of the box to collect the water so i dont flood the people below and so i can test the ph. I watered them 4 days ago with 1/4 str Fox Farm Big Grow(water adjusted to 6 ph)...I let the soil get pretty dry but not completely and watered again tonight with 1/3 str FFBG. The plants are on 18/6 light schedule and the fan is on during the 18 hrs. I still need to buy a digital ph meter but the runoff water tested to yellow with a very light tint of green so im guessing its like 6.3. The 3L coke bottle and the yeast are for the CO2...just gotta go buy a aquarium hose or something tomorrow. The plants are growing rapidly every day, i was thinking of transplanting them in 4 days when they are 2 weeks old into 3 gallon pots. So far the only thing ive messed up is damaging the root a little when transplanting plant #4 from a shotglass into the plastic cup...its really lengthy and has smaller leaves than the other 3.

My only concern right now is plant #1... 2 of its leaves are curled for some reason. Plant #2 is really short and the leaves are pointing down at a sharp angle...is this normal or am i putting them too close to the light or something? Plant #3 is the biggest 1 and looks healty to me... but the fact is i dont know so any input/comments would be greatly appreciated.

I realize i need to move that bigass mirror out of there and im going to try to move the fan a bit closer and cut the closet in half somehow so the light doesnt get wasted on all that space to the right of the plants...maybe with a bedsheet or something? any suggestions are welcome

Now its time to bongsmilie...

i am soon to be on my first grow so i dont know a whole lot but you could put really anything up to not waste your light. honestly mylar is really cheap for a huge roll like 20-40 bucks and you can get it in different thicknesses. i would say your plants are looking good as they are not turning yellow and the tips of the leaves dont looked curled either. maybe if you get the money invest in a bigger watt light would help those babies grow a lot or a MH bulb for veg would be nice too.. lookin good though, that mylar you could just put on maybe cardboard or even the bedsheet and hang it right next to it

I too am semi new to growing (outside guerrilla grower turned indoor)and you seem to have the basics pretty good. The leaves curling seem like overwatering. Its a pain to get the habit right as a new grower but it will slowly get easier as you get hands on experience. I would stick with the HPS unless you plan on getting a bigger system since they seem to be doing pretty good under it. I dont use any form of CO2 enrichment in my grow so I wouldn't know how to help you with that. As for reflecting light you can use cardboard painted flat white as a wrap around to redirect light but then you have to make sure your air supply is good. Overall looking good though.
