Hi earth59x,
Easy solution to an easy problem. The best thing for you to do to your plant without sacrificing yield or downtime from recovery would be to tie down the top of your plant so it makes an arc. It is called low stress training. The shoots on the main stalk will begin to grow upwards, and if they get to tall guess what? That's right, you tie those down. It worked great for me, I grew a mean little bush using this method. Google "low stress training cannabis" and you'll get all the info you can handle. In my opinion, I would not top a haze, but that's just my opinion and I'm sure topping a sativa dominant strain has worked for many.
