THE BEGINNING
so i had these seeds from some good bud i had smoked with some friends of mine. where i live it is usually warm out, and the winters dont get too cold. so i decided to plant some seeds outside. only one sprouted, this was right at the beginning of december. i named her ice cube because its winter, and it was been getting pretty cold.

soil = mix of outside dirt and fireplace ash
water = from tap, sat out for 48 hours before plant gets it
nutes = none

INSIDE SHE GOES
the plant didnt grow much, because it turned out where i had planted it, it was not getting much direct sunlight. so after like three weeks of no growth, i decided to bring it inside in my attic. with this shotty homemade box. at least i covered the inside with white paper, and added nice homemade reflectors. hehe.

light = 2 23 watt cool CFL
soil = outside dirt, bunch of deer poo, fireplace ash
water = same
nutes = none

pics are from 12-28-07

BIGGER, BADDER, BETTER
i decided to change to a better box, something easier to work with, to throw more lights in, and larger. so i made this one this evening.

lights = 4 23 watt cool CFL's
2 26 watt cool CFL's
soil = same
water = same
nutes = none

this is how the plant is doing, its responding really well to the CFL's. these pics are right before it got put under all 6 CFL's. im thinking of getting some superthrive tomorrow morning. and eventually adding some more soil. ill keep it vegging until its about a foot high. and im going to tie branches down so i can maximize all six bulbs. and ill make reflectors for the other four lights as well.

Looks like you are on your way but I would think about changing the soil, the leaves from what I see look a bit yellowish, this may be due to over watering, what are your plans for flowering?

Good luck to you and your grow...

Superthrive is really for when the plant is unhealthy or dieing. Plus that plant is way to young for nutrients. Are you only growing one plant? If you have more seeds I would just try starting over again, the soil you are using most likely has bugs in it and doesnt offer much to the plant. Good soil is the first place to start for a good grow, I suggest buying a bag and then going from there. I can smell the potential you have, good luck man!

First I'd like to start off by saying thank you for creating a grow journal. Secondly on a personal note I alaways feed my plants superthrive, what I do is give a gentle spray/mist down once a week with like 2 drops of superthrive in my spray bottle. I will be keeping an eye on your progress. GL m8!!

i have been thinking of getting some new soil and switching it. for flower, im just going to change the light cycle and give it flowering nutes. ill stick with the cool CFL's, id rather have warm ones, but im poor.

the plant is actually about a month old, hahah, just ha d not been growing outside. ive always read that superthrive was a great veg nutrient formula? ill have a look around some more for diff nutes then.

i only have this one seed, its from bangin shyte from when i was in jersey. where im at now is nothing but dirt crap weed. so ill be sticking with this one little girl here.

hello hello! i just changed the soil to miracle grow moisture control. i know its not the best, but it was cheap and available at wal mart.

i also bought some superthrive too! im so excited. the bottle says 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water, i know i read a lot of people say 2 teaspoons with regular nutes, but i dont know if superthirive is different. plus, my plant is still super tiny.

should i do superthrive now or wait till its on its bigger?

ill get pics in a bit.

Wash your leaves of as the mud and dust on them will be hindering its growth rate by inhibiting the amount of light available for photosynthesis.
How far away are your cfls and what spectrum are your cfls?
I dunno anything about superthrive so i cant help you there.

i just washed the leaves off really good about 20 minutes ago, so they are nice and clean. one of the six bulbs is about 1.5 inches away from it. and all the others reflectors are facing it. they are the 100 watt replacement 23-26 watt CLF's, its the cool ones for vegging.

Looking good, I would hold off on the superthirve. Wait until you see the second node starting to come out the top then add some nutes. Until then they are very fragile and really only light, air and water.

Totally up 2 you I am sure certain strains react differently.. Personally I use superthrive all the time right from seedling.. But once again your call :) I do however recommend using the carbonated water with powerthrive as a foil spray for night time.
