sweet the 40w lights should bump it op nice. some people like to use 24 all the way to flower i personaly like the extra branch growth the 18/6 light cycle offers. roots grow more than the plant durring the light cycle and the plant grows more than the roots in the dark cycle. so with the 6 hours of sleep they will grow out more budd sites/ branches.
make sure to position some of the lighting around the plant so you can get some nice side growth. everything is looking great tho man. keep it up and dont forget to ask me anything.

ok i went and grabed 3 30watt CFLS and a 68watt monster. ill post pics later. bad news is that when i set them up they flipped over wile i wasnt home and burnt up one side of the plant 
but i have 8 lights on her now, and the timer is set to 16 light 8 dark, and i am having large stem growth up top now.

Do i have to worrie about it now? i havnt ever burnt one this bad, The lights fell over onto it when i was out for a day.

and some goodies
a 68 watt cfl (300watt) its bigger than my plant. and 5 times bigger than my 40watt cfl
and this book, a little to specific for my tast. but good info.
got a cupple cheep timers from walmart!
And some MGrow. Bud booster. Worth the try right?

and i have a idea to test here soon (what about using a Party CFL from Home Dept. the bight red ones (20watts) just to add a little darker color? think it will work?

Foil is ok to use with cool white CFL's because they create little to no heat. I started off my plants with warm white CFL's and mine got a hell of heat coming from it. I was really confused because most people say they don't create much heat but in my experience warm white CFL's can cause some real heat especially if your using a 68 watt one! Remember foil = more heat
