First ever grow, dwc, succeed, fail.. what ever it will entail

Everything seem on point when it comes the environment, it's good that you keep it a little bit colder with 24C. Your tap is golden! Use that to your advantage.

You shouldn't need to add any Calmag with Aqua A + B in DWC with two water, often not even with RO since it contains enough in the base formula. Canna is however designed to be used withtypical tap water in EU. With 70ppm I bet that water quality is very good and what's in it is accessible to the plant. I have similar water at home.

Be careful with adding organic matter to the reservoir. I had best results with running a combination of humic acid, kelp and 3ppm bleach. Both bleach and kelp act as anti fungal agents and bleach also keep nasties like Pythium at bay.
Shall I just ride it out for now see what happens and hopefully it will recover in the next day or 2? And I have already taken your advice on not running the organics I am now running normal house hold bleach which jas literally saved my plants and they are growing like crazy now they have recovered

Back off with the light before roots are more established and water through the netpots two times a day to give the plants nutrients and water and showing roots the way to the reservoir.

Edit!: Didn't read your last post fully! That's awesome! Bleach works really well.

Ok I will decrease my light intensity by 25%. Shall I water with the nutrient solution in my buckets and just pour it in there with a jug? Have a look at my roots 2 weeks ago roughly, they were full of stinking black slime and now they're pure white albeit with a little bit of nutrient staining from the canna which obviously can't be helped but to me they look absolutely fantastic thanks to your help and advice.

They are recovering nicely! New roots looks nice and white!

Happy to help bud! PM if you ever run into any problems or just want to share ideas!

DWC is fun when everything clicks and starts performing properly. I'm doing coir and re-learning old tricks. I've gone through Pro-mix to flood tables to DWC to Coco coir back to DWC and then Aero and now back to growing in coir . Every system has its pros and cons.

Cheers!

I'm very happy with them now I've switched from rhizotonic to bleach.. it's a fraction of the cost aswell and thanks mate I will do because you are a wealth of invaluable knowledge.

Wow you you literally have tried everything haven't you! What is your opinion on the best system for the finest smoking buds? I wanted to grow in coco originally but decided dwc was the system for me in the winter. But I think in the summer I'm thinking of changing to coco autopots with a large reservoir so I can go to my villa in Spain for 4-5 day at a time during the summer and then back to dwc during late autumn winter early spring. We shall see but I don't want plants to rule my life when I have a house in a another country. But tbh I only need to grow around 30 oz of nice bud to last me a full year which I am hoping In near future I can do it with 2 harvests a year

So today I've made some brackets to go on the lids of the oxypots so I can make 3 independent scrog nets which should make cleaning and changing the water reasonably manageable. Here's one of them... The squares are and not perfectly square because I've not wrapped the twine in the right sequence but I can't be arsed to change it I'll make the next 2 nicer haha.. gotta start somewhere I suppose.
Cheers bongsmilie

So tonight I've done some deforestation... Probably too much because there's fuck all left of them to be honest.. too many joints mixed with a couple of beers = confidence overload haha! :eyesmoke::lol: however.. I'm actually pretty happy with it. I think I've had the light intensity way too high throughout the grow making everything so tight and compact. So I've backed off the light intensity even more and hopefully they will stretch a little bit making it relatively easy to manipulate in to the squares come time to flip... Probably not but hopefully haha! Most importantly the roots are growing at an unstoppable rate. Also the pH and EC are stable with the water level dropping noticeably by the day (topping up each day to maintain all 3 levels) here are some photos of my over confidence :wall:

So I've finally made it in to flower I did a defoliation first which you can see and I doubt it was enough as 7 days later my plants are twice the size and have all their leaves back... I tried to scrog the best I could but the branches were a little stiff and didn't want to snap them. I've also added another light in to the tent to give me almost perfectly even coverage as they no completely fill the grow tent wall to wall.. onwards and upwards hopefully I'll make it to harvest with out too many issues I'm getting excited haha bongsmilie:eyesmoke:

Get another net ontop of them and train them through that to fill out the empty space bud. And congratulations they look awesome I'm really happy for you!

Cheers Blue mate, I have been thinking about that and planned to do so I'm going to see how much they stretch and hopefully I can modify my existing scrog nets so I can still do res changes individually
I've already had to be very inventive to make everything individually move able haha I never knew growing weed would be so innovative, King Charles would give me a knight hope if he'd seed me efforts so far I wouldn't roll him a joint though but id let him watch :weed:

Hello people, I'm just looking for a little guidance if you could please, I'm currently in my second week, bang on 14 days of flower/(12/12) white hairs have started to emerge just about, but I am having a little battle with the humidity (or maybe I'm not for the moment) everyone swears by the 21 day defoliation from what I have seen which obviously reduces humidity. I can't take delivery of my grow tent dehumidifier until Saturday as I am working away tomorrow until Friday and my Mrs is on holiday for the next 9 days. Am I safe to just let it all ride for the time being or should i defoliate to reduce the humidity. I can't open the windows as the humidity outside is over 85% so that is counter productive any input would be greatly appreciated. I've opened the grow tent to reduce humidity with lights on but I can't leave it open permanently as there is a window in the room. Cheers

Can you show us a pic that shows beneath the canopy/trelis/net? you cn probably defoliate most of it beneath the net, but need pics.

Ahh... that's a perfect environment for trapping pockets of humid air!

Get the scissors out and get rid of most/all those leaves... just be very carefull what you are cutting - you don't want to cut any stalks that are growing up through the net into flowering heads....

You could just run extraction fan 24/7 until your dehumidifier turns up thats what i did before mine turned up.
Hi Abe, my extraction is on 24/7 plus 2 fans, one a above the canopy and one below the canopy and I'm still struggling  it's reasonable when the tent door is open but I can't leave it open while I'm away because of the window, I've 4 days to survive while I am away haha

I'll get some chopped off once I've had a coffee and woke up abit then otherwise I'll end up cutting all the stuff I don't want to cut haha

What actually is your humidity though? you might not need to go too crazy defoliating the undergrowth, as you don't really have any buds to speak of yet... that's when it becomes more important as the buds get more dense thay can be prone to going bad/rot if humidity is too high...

Also your fan thats sat on the floor seems to be aimed at the side of the tent - maybe rotate it round slightly and see if that has any effect?

Just some thoughts

So here are my plants after 3 weeks in to flower looking very far behind the usually photos I've seen for other peoples grows. After serious research I've realised the light intensity and temps were way too low after adding another light(and dialing it back to compensate). After some up and down movement and a few turns of the knob over a few days I've finally got things dialled it and they are growing/flowering at a rapid rate eventually I've done some very light defoliation to help with light penetration as even though they are 21 day in to flowering they look so far behind, I'll give them a solid strip next week when they are a little further along because they are still stretching.

I am still hopeful i'll get between 6- 9oz for my efforts bloody steep learning curve growing your own but im really enjoying it

Currently in week 4 for flower and week 2 from first pistils everything looking good, got my new spider farmer dehumidifier running aswell, absolute fucking beast it is. And... plenty of little budlets starting to form now aswell which is nice. Need to get a bigger inline fan though because the dehumidifier creates positive pressure when she kicks in and don't want any smells leaving the tent alerting the neighbours of my little baby ganjas :weed:
