First ever attempt at growing (advice needed)

I have never grown, never had experience around growing cannabis and i want to do a 1-2 plant grow at minimum cost ( im broke )
i have about 40-45cm squared space on the floor (closed in with 3 walls) and i have over 6ft in height.
What bulbs, nutrients and stuff like that are recommended for this? Any video tutorials or something i can follow by picture?
I am able to follow instructions easier by seeing what i am aiming for.

Ive never snapped and come unglued at anyone on here before but you sir are close. Read a book, riu posts and journals, watch youtube videos. Then come back with ideas to ask members opinions about. Dont be a pathetic sponge, nobody likes a sponge.

I agree with Ninjabowler a lot of peeps on here don't like spoon feeding. Get the basics down at least. Learn the earth,fire,wind,and water of growing first.

i have been searching for the last few days but the most confusing part is the 2500 and 6500 something bulbs
i have seen a lot of people saying to use different bulbs and theyre all for 4 plants+
Also, the grows i have seen are big grows with all top quality materials costing a lot.
All i need is help getting started with a tiny grow then i can follow the bigger ones i have seen. Im not just here to sponge, just that little bit of help would be nice...

One of the spectrums is for veg and ones for flowering. It has to do with what the plants need more at certain stages of the plants development and where the sun is in the in the sky in the spring and summer vs where the sun is in the sky in the fall. As the seasons change the sun naturally moves further away and different light spectrums make it to the top of the plants leaves where photosyntisis happens. Now go use that little search box at the top right and start asking it questions and reading. Theres been a hundred threads started just like this one and im sure you could read a couple of those and learn all ya need to know

Firstly welcome to RIU we have a nice vibe here and we like to joke around and avoid people who just hate.

Ninjabowler is right I have never grown before but I have spend a long time searching and searching and searching and I feel that if someone was to give my good equipment and ofcourse good genetics I wouldn't be too far off growing top qaulity gear.

Now people that have been here a long time or post a lot like Ninjabowler will see posts like this all the time, and trust me it gets annoying. These guys at RIU aren't dicks infact the opposite but it is annoying seeing people post stuff like this when the info is a 5minute search and read. Really the only serious questions you should ever need to ask are very advanced growing techniques and applications and new methods that no-one has tried or people have had very little experience with even then there should be plenty information.

I'll give you a little hand this time... Ok so your saying you want to do this cheap but how cheap are we talking as you can find a bag seed get some crappy soil and drop the seed in put it under a crappy light and water a couple times a week or less and in a few months you will have some horrible qaulity weed. Or you can spend £200-£300 get a good light get some nice soil or hydro equipment, get some real nice genetics, a tent if you want plus a carbon filter if you don't want it smelling, then if done right you will have nice weed. Trust me everyone wants to go a cheap as they Can for their grow but spend at least £300 and you WILL be much much happier with the result if you spend half as much you really wouldn't get even a 1/4 of the results (I'm only doing 2lights with 4plants and I'm by no means going over kill and I'm not rich and I spent £1600 on a setup) And if you struggle to get that much money just to start up, your probably very young and please please don't grow of its not your house just wait until you have you own place.

Now you might want to try get a bit more space if possible with a bit more space and a 400w you can and should get 250grams and is possible to get upto 400grams or slightly more. You CANNOT put a 400w in that space As it will be too hot. How much weed are you looking to get? Even 5oz (140grams) in a space your talking about will be hard and remember it might take 3months+ until your harvest, 5oz every 3 or even 4 months is not that much. I myself go through way more than 5oz in three months. Lol I smoke too much though like 2-3oz a week.

Anyway good look dude and just keep searching and searching ( also whatever you decide try not go over 9 plants as now in the uk anything under 9 plants is decriminalised so you can't go to jail, and REMEBER you can get the EXACT same yield and/or BETTER with less plants, the amount of plants means NOTHING it's all in the veg time and the lights, I personally put 4 plants in a 25square foot area, whereas I could easily fit 50 small plants yet I would go to jail if I had 50plants and I will get the exact same yield, but if one of my 4 plants dies I'm screwed because I'll have upto 10oz a plant.

To answer the question in simple Greek. For veg cycle you want the bulbs that emit the blue color. For flower the warm colors. Ideally you want to have a combination of the spectrums.

Well start planing op! Your setup can run you anywhere from a couple of bucks... 40/50/60... all the way up the the high Thousands! Like the wise ones above mentioned, start reading and watching videos... you'll learn a lot, you'll learn multiple ways to do things -some people suggest and then others suggest against...

Let's start basic, you need; A light source, A medium, Some nutrients, Ventilation and your seeds. No go and search and learn and come back when you have yourself a plan!

Im not even really looking to make 5oz really, just enough for a joint before bed because it helps me sleep. (ive been sleeping once every 2 days for a few hours and it really messes things up)
Im probably looking to spend less than £100 because i am litterally broke now lol but i know people that have grown with less than £20.

seeing as you just like a joint every now a then so a little setup like you said should be fine, and like i said you can probably grow with £20 but the results wont be a tenth as good as if you spend a little more.

Now if i dont know your situation, like if you live alone or live in a farm or in the city or in a apartment, but if you dont want it to smell because EVERYONE near you house or apartment will be able to smell it. so you one of the things i recommend you try NOT to save money on is a carbon filter this will stop plants from stinking up your house.

Honestly though if you enjoy smoking/vaping/eating weed i would spend atleast £150 on your setup because you unless your really not bothered about weed at all you will end up buying better and/or more stuff anyway costing you more money if you only spend £50-£60 on your original setup. I Know lots of people who only smoke a few times a week or less, they all did they same as you wanted to do spend like £40-£50 and every single one of them have spend an extra £100-£150 and there not really that into weed, and they ended up spending more money than if they were just to spend the £150 originally.

Google marijuana life cycle. After that check marijuana optimum enviroment. Then google "grow security" people get paranoid with helicopter thermo boogy man. If Yer under 400 watts you should be safe. Just be smart about your setup. Learn Yer surrounding area. Find out who's nosy. But tell no one not even Yer friends.

I would do cfl bulbs for veg and get a hps lamp for flowering. Keep it simple you'll do fine. Use those key words when googling and you'll get good info.

i wont be growing until i have an apprenticeship or a job because by what you are all saying, it is going to be necessary to spend a fair amount on this.
i have a very nosy bunch of neighbors and the copters are out in my area a lot. there was a documentary on BBC about them circling my area for grow rooms so ill need to focus on security before anything.
I live on a busy road, hundreds pass my house on a school day, so the carbon filter will be very useful.
I haven't had internet for a few days so i haven't been reading but i will try to read online as much as possible.

Hey First Time...get yourself a pot and go outside and dig up some dirt, throw about 20 beans in it, dump a few gallons of water on them and put it as close to the kitchen lights as possible and there ya go buddy

LMFAO..Hey don't really do that ...Get yourself some good soil, some perlite, some nutrients, and a couple of pots....mix ur soil with the perlite a 60% soil and 40% perlite mix is what I do....get yourself about 10 6500k CFLs (read the label it will tell you the Kelvin=k) stick ONE bean in each pot (unless you want to germ them in a paper towel or glass of water) and do not over water, but keep them moist until beans sprout, continue just spraying with water until they start showing "actual" leaves and then water like every 3 to 4 days (depending on size of pots & soil/perlite mix) and once they do sprout keep that light right on them about 2 inches above em, with a small 6inch fan blowin on them softly.....this should get you started....but ya read read read...good luck....BTW, you won't need but 1 light a bean at first, but the bigger they get the more light they will need

Yeah there isn't anything cheap about growing marijuana indoors. As you said just keep reading everything you can. At first it seems overwhelming but it all starts making sense eventually. If you live in the UK, I believe your police are allowed to use FLIR in their choppers to look at residential rooftops (unconstitutional in the USA) so if you are growing in an attic or top floor I would look into some type of radiant heat barrier such as "Reflectix." If you live in an apartment building I would use extra caution.

If you like watching videos, Jorge Cervantes has a channel on YouTube with his Ultimate Grow and many other videos. Watch all 3 segments of the Ultimate Grow and you will have a basic understanding of the grow cycle and equipment.

Fire= light , wind= air circulation, etc...
