wow, that's wild.. well hopefully some LST and topping will help me keep things under control. I moved the runt of my 4 plants out into the backyard in a 5 gal bubble bucket and now I have 3 plants in the tent. 2 are non feminized, so I may end up with less than 3 in there depending on how things play out.
My current one was topped once and lst and even a few branches hst. It's has a canopy about the same size as the three lol. But that's good that's what I was hoping for

Having to do emergency rez change atm. 2 days of rising ppms after almost a month of static or dropping ppm and h2o. Wondering if I have a salt build up so trying to flush from top down till its clean

oh, good luck! how often do you change your res? I've been trying to do it weekly at least until I get a handle on the right proportions..

I change weekly also and had just changed thurs but something is up so hopefully that helped. I also cut nute strength down from 80% to 50% so I can try and get her drinking nutes again

just some cheap Chinese units I got off amazon. They seem to do a pretty good job, at least give me a range to keep track of. I know PH pens eventually wear out, no matter who makes them.

Some of those brand name products like blue labs are pretty steep.. What do you use?

I'd like to get a blue lab seen one for under 200$ on Amazon still to high for me right now. I have cheapys also. 40$ vivosun does ph ec and ppm plus temp. Worked good till I dropped it but they replaced it even tho I told them I dropped it. Supposed to be here tomorrow.

nice, yeah I feel like most of the lower priced pens are all within the same range of quality. I'd be curious to know how much better blue labs actually is. For what they charge those PH pens should last forever..

< - - 2 days into the 4th week - - >

I topped the two Northern Lights at the 4th node (pictured on front and rear left of photo below) and since the Dutch Treat plant was a bit smaller, I'm just using LST on her to allow her to catch up a bit (on right side in photo).

I wanted to do more LST on these but their stems are so damn thick, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to really bend them.. Any thoughts on how long I should keep these vegging would would be appreciated. The tent is 5 feet tall, so space will be limited!

I moved the runt into its own bubble bucket outside of the tent since 4 plants inside of a 2x4 tent isn't something I want to take on. Because of its stunted growth, it would have been overshadowed by the others anyway. The left photo was when it was first moved out, the right photo was 1 day later after it adjusted to the new environment. Nothing like that natural sunlight!

I know nothing about Northern lights or the Dutch master are they saliva or indica or hybrid? It will at least double in height after flip so just use your best judgment. How much room you have between tops and max light height now? I'd say 4 more weeks of healthy growth with persistent lst

Dutch is a 80/20 Sativa/Indica hybrid. Northern Lights is a 80/20 Indica/Sativa hybrid. I'll keep that timeline in mind as I work with these girls. W'l;l see how low I can keep them..

That soup in that black bucket outside is gonna get hot. You use SAG gff right?
yeah concerned about that as well.. yes, definitely using SAG gff. Hopefully that will stave off any major issues. I also might try to cover the bucket with something lighter colored.

Here is a couple pics from last grow with the similar set up as you. I bent main down till it almost touched lid.
Nice! I think I waited too long for proper LST on the main stem. They're all super thick. When I pull the stem over, the whole net cup basket get's pulled over..lol

Gotta put a tie as close to bottom going opposite way you want to bend it. Gives some leverage. You should be able to get it down. The upper part should bend. Do it over a couple days little at a time

not a bad idea! I guess I could also wrap it with reflective tape like I did with the top of my tent reservoir..? Or maybe tape some tin foil down

All of the above work lol done them all
haha nice, ended up going with tin foil that I attached to the bucket with foil tape.

random question, what are your thoughts on using a scrog / trellis like the one I have hanging in my tent shot? Could be a good way to encourage lateral growth, but I just worry that it will make it hard for me to do reservoir changes..

I did a two story net on last grow. Made out of 1/2 pvc and tees and 90s. I had the exact same question/ problem. I made it to where it sat on top or rez lid and foil taped it down. So lid came off with plants and net. I'll look for a pic for reference.
