First Dirt Grow, 3 Strains

Hey there all!

In the past I've done a bunch of bubbleponics grows, but this year decided to make the switch to dirt to ease up my schedule and spend time doing other things besides checking the ph all day. I'm expanding the grow to 12-16 plants depending on how I feel, but currently have 7 plants in about month 2 of the vegging process. I have 3 Tangerine Dreams, 3 Strawberry Cough Plant's and one blueberry plant. All the seeds are feminized except for the blueberry, but none seem oversized and are all growing at about the same rate so I assume all fems. Here's some pictures of the grow right now and I'll be sure to update you guys with more pics as we go. Starting the transition into flowering next week and finishing off fertlizing for aggresive growth this week. Tell me what you all think!

Yes its quite the cord jungle but its all out of the way and I can spray neem oil and water like a nut to keep off the critters :-P. I had early infestation troubles. All the cords are at the top to stay as far from my stuff as possible. What's important is I know where everything goes and where to unplug what.

Hey guys, went through the grow today moving some stuff around, cleaning it up a bit. I don't know if I knocked something on my light or it just happened to have issues on this day but my 400w hps bulb for some reason will turn on for 2-3 minutes and then switch back off again. I can still hear the ballast delivering power to the light and like I said if I let it cool off for a bit the light will start up for 2-3 minutes before it turns back off again.

I took a couple pictures of the bulb, it has a little black mark on it but I don't know if that's just because that's a hot spot for the bulb, or if the thing needs to be replaced. I have used this bulb quite a bit in the last few years and never changed it. How often do you guys replace your bulbs and do you think I need to based off testimony and pics? Haven't had to deal with this much before, want to get all my lights back up and operating soon since I'm starting flower next week. Any thoughts on the issue? Here's the pics.

Let me know what you guys think, thanks for the replies!

Started flowering exactly one week ago today. Took a check today and I have 2 confirmed females on tangerine dream, waiting on the 3rd, still waiting to see on the strawberry coughs, but they all look like they're going to be female. However I took a good look at my blueberry and I am sure he's male. He started growing vigorously lately and is now the biggest plant and now take a look at these balls.

I'm thinking about giving him a day or two to do a light pollination, and then cutting him down, I don't mind a couple seeds in my bud, especially if the seeds are blueberry / strawberry cough, and blueberry / tangerine dream seeds. Here's a couple pics of the tangerine dreams as well and the overall grow. Will definitely update again in a week when I'm sure there will be more to show!

I assume you replaced the lamp? It would seem thats the problem if it only stays on a couple minutes, but the ballast keeps humming away. I personally replace my 400W HPS every 2 or 3 grows. They aren't that expensive and I'm always sure the lamp is healthy.

Yea I ended up grabbing a 400 Watt HPS until I can order in the 430 watt sun Agro. The 400 is fine for blooming anyways.

Hey there guys! It's been about 2 weeks since my last update. My girls are all doing well (except I had to get rid of one of my tangerine dream plants that seemed to get sick all of the sudden and never quite recovered so I just removed her as not to be a danger to the other plants). Also the male blueberry plant was removed. Right now I have 2 tangerine dream and technically 3 strawberry cough plants but one is half the size of the other 2 for some reason. The strawberry cough's are definitely about a week or so behind the tangerine dreams which have taken off and really started to fill up in the last week. Hope you guys enjoy the pics this week!

looking great!! Is it Sagarmatha's Strawberry Cough? I grew their Strawberry D-lite (straw cough x diesel) and came out great. Over 2oz's dried, great smell and look! I've had good luck with Sagarmatha strains so far.

The strawberry cough should be just straight strawberry cough. I got it at last years Toronto pot march from a random stand and don't think I have the label anymore.

Hey guys just updating you with some bud shots. The Tangerine Dream plants are really moving along well, the strawberry cough is taking his time but when I get up close you can start to see the trichromes all over the leafs. Most of these pics again are of the Tangerine Dream with just a couple of Strawberry. Hope you guys enjoy!

And here's how Strawberry Cough is doing:

She looks a bit sick in the one pic cuz the pic is taken after I turned on the HPS bulb so the color looks off but its fine. Actually the healthiest plant is the strawberry.
