First cupboard grow box!

So I was sitting in my room a few days ago and wondered if i could ever grow a few plants in my room. ( as a grow box setup ) I have a broken leg at the moment and have VERY minimal resources avaliable for my taking, so this is the design i came up with.

The smart thing about it is that once the plants grow to big to be manoeuvred in and out of the opening, the top crate simply just lifts off. This will be secured tightly to the bottom crate with hook straps. It also has thin foam sheets behind the cardboard for insulation...





A door will be hinged to the opening with a lock on it.

The CFL 30watt daylight lights will be positioned with 2 on the wall, horizontal and one hanging from the roof. As the plants grow bigger the two side lights could be moved up higher along with the hanging one...



As I will be having three lights and possibly another one will this be an adequate amount of lumens for the box? They are 30watt CFL's (150watt equiv.) that produce 2000 lumens each

6000-8000lumens should provide sufficient light for a veging plant right???












Dimensions: 2ft tall x 1ft wide x 1ft deep

Obviously I have not yet cut the mylar for the inside of the box, as this in my next task!



I was wondering if these laptop fans would be able 2 ventilate the box (all three in operation) ????
and will also have an additional desk fan in there for stem development

can someone please tell me if I will need 120mm fans?

remember its a lowww budget grow so Im not going to buy much more shit

looks good man, but like i said earlier, make sure you disconnect the light wires on the fans
those weak blue LED's wont do much for the plant, especially when they're on when the CFL's are off

shit looks nice for a small grow... if you can, start from clone just to make things easier for yourself. very creative tho. check out my journ i did some cfls myself.

cant clone yet, plants not big enough... but have a few bagseed sprouts 5inches tall gonna test them first!

get up some green i think people will respond to that more than the cardboard... and im pretty sure your ok with the 6-8000 lights, i always used 5700 for veg and like 2300 for flowering. and do plenty of reading if your serious about growing some bud. wether its surfing through here or get a cervantes grow guide (the best in my opinion as far as getting the whole picture) good luck dude
