first closet grow with UFO

hey dont listen to them, the positive side is: the led will not hurt your plants, it probably wont help all that much, but hey you spent the money already why not get the best out of it. def use the better lights and the ufo, too much light cant hurt anybody. cept maybe vampires. my only suggestion, i cant see one in the picture but it doesnt seem like you have a fan blowing your plants. the stems seem very spindly and week because of all the stretching. making the stems strong is important to keep your plants from breaking during flowering. so get a fan other than that good luck with your crops.

also have you maybe thought of putting the ufo on the side of the wall rather than the celing, like you said it shoots straight out, and theoricitally they dont lose much stength over distance like other lights, so maybe they wouldnt have to stretch so much, maybe some mylar to reflect them back a little?

yeah a couple post back i said that u cant really see in any of the pics but i have a tower fan in the corner of the closet...and yeah the wall thing sounds like a possibility but i dont have any idea how i could work that out so i think ill just wait till the hps come and set those up on the sides of the UFO and see wat happens..also i read somewhere that white reflects just as much as milar for the most part so i havent really looked into putting anything up on the walls

ok one question
what compelled you to buy this thing, and did you do any research before you bought it, how many people here can say they have ahad a super succeful grow using just a ufo?
cant you tell that it is streching the plants?

ok one ? for u...have u read any of this thread? u will see that we already figured out the UFOs arent the best..i had a financial come up and was able to basically by the light free...i did do research on the light before and i wanted to experiment myself with it...for one thing the size of it alone makes it worth a buy and let alone that it only cost 8 bucks a month of elect...

ya thanks and for the streching sprouts im used to growing outside so its not diffference to me and height isnt really a problem in the closet since i dont think theyll get 7 ft high...also the UFO led shoots directly down so if i placed it over one plant i could get it to be real bushy but thats not the case in this situation...plus hps come tomro so its gona get better dont worry haha

u have any opinions on how to improve my set up with UFO..ill admit for sure u have way more knowledge then me so pretty much any help will be good..thanks and screw la9 haha
We are still learning ourselves, but we have a lot of money and experience with growing aero (which is the best way, period). No we don't use aerogarden lol. It seems that using only LED light has changed A LOT of the parameters that we are normally used to when we use HPS. First and foremost is light penetration. It seems that LED light does not penetrate through the foliage very well. We suspect this might have something to do with the spectrum, but we are not sure. You must prune, and know how to prune very well to increase the light intake of the plants. The bottom leaves will not receive much light and should be done away with. Also be aware that the newer UFO's and panels by sunshine systems have changed their light spectrum ever so slightly (they appear more "amber" versus the pink) for a more flower friendly overall spectrum. We are in direct contact with the guys over at sunshine, and they have been a huge help. I am not sure how many UFO's you have, but its best to also have multidirectional sources (not just one aiming straight down). You might want to have supplemental CFL lighting coming down at an angle to help get more light in towards the leaves that are farther down the plant. Indeed, there are a lot of documented grows of people using inferior LED panels that they constructed themselves using cheap, non directional, low power leds that end up in poor yields. If you do everything right with the UFO, trust me, it will yield fairly large. Make sure you do everything else right, use the proper amount of hydrogen peroxide for the roots, and keep the air regulated the appropriate level of CO2. I will post up our results with pictures of our 800watt grow pretty soon, so be on the look out. I admit, we are still learning, and it appears that growing with led light changes quite a few things (PH wise and nutrient wise as well). We no longer have problems with heat evacuation, our problem is exactly opposite, keeping heat in! Make sure you always keep the UFO as close as possible, but to make sure that you are getting the most out of the light, use as much mylar as possible around the grow area and maybe hookup a reflective hood to the UFO itself. Good luck, and don't let the moronic haters out there get you down, and don't doubt yourself. They know nothing.

Hey jointchief, great info. Nice to see someone doing this on a large scale. Can't wait to see your outcome!
Little grower, you know I'm with you on this, and damn la9 has been getting out of control! Glad to hear your hps are still on schedule for tomorrow! Did I read correctly, did you decide to add them now? You gonna get some pics up before and after?

La9, jeesus, You better hope you never come in physicall contact with little grower, im prety sure he will try to brake your back or something. Ha. but yeah, the sales hype is gay, misleading bs.

Little- I dont feel like hunting down a simple answer so ill just ask ya, what do you think about the stanly blower idea? just curious cause if you made this a badd ass led grow, La9 would have to eat all that shit hes been droping in this thread! hahaha

I am so worried about all your pussy threats, you steal candy from babies, something you are good at.

SUNSHINE SYSTEMS SELLS THE MOST UNRELIABLE LED JUNK AROUND
imo

this guy is just retarted...and the hps came today but wow are they way different then what i expected they are massive lights but i hope i can get the wiring right and have them up by the end of today...help with wiring would help if anyone has info????for the blower idea it sounds good but i dont really need one for the UFO since its fan cooled from inside..with the HPS i hope to get some clip fans and blast those directly to keep away heat...and i was thinking would soda cans work to make a hood for the UFO..???
