First Closet CFL - Afghan Kush Ryder

I'm sick and tired of spending my valuable money on something that grows naturally, so I'm cutting out the shifty dealers and growing some Percy!

I've been waiting to do this for a very long time and decided I had waited long enough, so for a quick experiment I decided to grow a single plant, an autoflowering Afghan Kush Ryder from World of Seeds.

I have a grow room of about 1 foot in width and depth and 2 feet in height with a 125w Dual Spectrum CFL suspended above, so I'm keeping things as simple as possible.

I'm 6 days in now and the seed has germinated, however the leaves are drooping a little and the Northen Lights sharing the space is falling on it's knee's (looking after it for a couple of days for a friend)

Has anyone got some suggestions as to what is wrong, I believe it may be that i just moved them away from the light for a day or so...

I am just using grow bag soil, and rain water. No fans or anything, this is about as simple as it gets!

I've heard good things about AKR and negatives also, hopefully I'll have a genuine autoflowering female that produces a nice smoke!

The last 2 pictures (31 & 32) are the latest shots and the item of concern, sorry about the quality, it's a camera phone. I will buy a new camera soon as I'm a budding photographer...

Also, has anyone got any experience with this Strain?

i would really try putting your light closer maybe 5 inches away and slowly move close if you don't see a problem if you can't move the light you can always move the plant closer

also get a fan, i got a fan out of a old computer and i think its 4 inches. Its simple go to a old computer open it up find the fan and it may SLIDE out, if not just screw it out. Now thats done and you have the fan in your hand snip the end of the wire were the thing connects to the motherboard. You'll probably have 3 wires or 4. The ones your looking for are the RED and BLACK. Get a cell phone charger and snip the end that plugs into the phone off now split it like a banana a inch or so down to handle and strip the wires a inch. Strip the red and black wires from the fan and twist the exposed wires together. If it doesn't work then switch it around. MAKE SURE the exposed wires are not touching like i mean don't get the two wires that are now connected touching each other because that breaks the current. Once you have it all figured get some electrical tape and wrap the exposed wires up and your good to go. If you don't have a spare phone charger you can always use a 12V AC adapter.

Everything has gone well over the last few days, a fan is on its way to keep the temperatures down and to create a better air flow, however I have hit another obstacle...

The leaves on my AKR have suddenly started curling, in all kinds of directions, inwards, upwards, downwards and just plain everywhere... Also, upon feeling the leaves they appear slightly crunchy, which is cause for concern as it's just started showing signs of a healthy growth spurt and now that new growth is very crunchy indeed!

I thought the light may be too close to the plant, and that the sudden growth spurt has meant the plant is starting to feel the heat, soil has noticeably dried up quicker making me think the plant is also starting to get too big for the pot.

Any thoughts?

lookin good.. but it may be time to upgrade pots?

the curling could be due to the excessive heat caused from the lights being moved closer, but 3-4 inches should be fine with a CFL, I personally have mine around 2-3 inches from the canopy.

do you have any means to monitor your temperature? is your are properly ventilated?

Out of interest would a single 120mm PC fan be enough?

The room is pretty small as it is so i thought i could get away with only using one fan to draw out the hot air,
however, every grow room I've seen has two!

Looking at the date of his last message, I just assume the plants are dead. If not, I'd like to hear the rest of the experience.
