soaked 9 seeds in a wet paper towel for a day and half or so then put them into jiffy peat pots, all nine sprouted in about 3 days

i just stumbled upon this thread and i will be following from here on, however i did want to add that in my experience, while tin foil wont HURT your plants, it is not the best material to use, i am used to use it but switched to a flat white shower curtain, it works quite well
yep i have also used like a sheet only thing with the sheet for me was it retained heat alot in an enclosed box =/. you are right tin foils not the best but it does work

I am also facing this problem with heat, i can not seem to find a portable a/c unti anywhere, i have tried ice blocks, right now i just have afew fans on it and its working abit, in your set up, i would say a fan outside blowing it into the box, not very stealth but you limited yourself the moment you used a small box, if u live in a cold climate or atleast have a cold basement you should store the box in there as long as the humitity is ok, best og luck bro i like all the pics and updates, keep em comin

ok well u want a fan blowing in and one blowing out. i wouldnt use ice block cause uf the humidity but maybe those gel ones might work just set like 3 in there.

And playa for ur problem try proping up the top just enough to let heat escape and blow ur air up. ur going to have to compermise a lilbit and lif just a small side of the blanket thats out of view to let the heat ecape. u can all ways try somethin diff if this doesnt work just let us know:-P

Just read your grow and I think i got a couple of solutions/advice for you since I'm nearing the end of my 1st cfl grow.

1. If you're wanting to grow 5-6 plants, you're going to want to get more lights later on, which means you got to get your heat in check.
2. If you can, get a cooler that you can fill with frozen 2 liter bottles (Styrofoam coolers work too) Cut a hole in one side for a dryer vent tube and a smaller hole at the other end to let air in. Then take a computer fan that you can get off ebay for like 10 bucks and hook it up on the inside of the larger hole you cut, put some frozen 2 liters in there and shut the lid and you'll drop temps atleast 5-8 degrees. (There's a tutorial for this somewhere on this site)
3. Hooking up a small exhaust fan for your tub will also help.( good exhaust/intake is essential)
4.Mylar you can get at walmart for about 1.99, tin foil can get hot spots and cause hermaphrodites.

Anyway, hope this helps in someway

thats good id still try to lower it as much as possible but thats way better than 97! hmm when did the wilting and color change in those leaves happen? also ur stems look purple i would def wait to feed for a while till they change back to green. wat soil are u using again it might be a little hot but it should pass with time.give em some time they will grow are u using 24/0 or 18/6? i know there is alot of controversy over this but if your doing 24/0 maybe try the 18/6 and see if they grow faster all depends ya know. but besides all that lol ur lookin pretty good.

" sorry i seem to keep rambling on and on when im baked:bigjoint::leaf:

what are you talking about man? even if you go to michaels craft store you can get 6-20" X 26" pre cut sheets for about 3 bucks (Thats about 12 sq/ft). The shit is SO fucking cheap...if anything else get an emergency blanket from walmart....
...if that's the going rate for mylar where you live, you need to figure out an alternative. Heard jizz give's a nice matte finish after it's dried up...

Reflective Mylar® is made from metalized aluminum on PET(polyester) fiber(this fiber is true Mylar®). As such it derives all reflectance properties from the aluminum coating.

Foylon® is aluminum foil laminated to clothe, essentially.

Emergency blankets are usually partially see-through. They're also aluminum.

Reflective Mylar® offers identical reflective results to that of bare aluminum.

well with cfls a 23-26 wat putts out about 100 watts worth of light witch is around 1600 lumens for a cfl. for vegging u want blue light. u dont want those clear lights they are around 3500k and put out almost no usfull light. and for flowering use red light or 2700k bulbs.
