Growing a Blue Widow too. Just flipped to 12/12 tonight bro, so we should be going the same thing at the same time, which'll be dope to see.
Yours looks a little different from mine, but there are a few on here and they don' all look the same. It looks good tho for sure.

You def. wanna keep those CFLS within' 3" at ALL TIMES to get the best out of them, and you DEF. have enough wattage to do some good things from what I've seen.
Have a look around bro. You'll see.
I'll be following along tho to see how it goes...There's another grower on here in I think wk 4 of flower and his bush is a BEAST! It's supposed to stretch 2-3x the size it is when you flip to 12/12.

Good luck with the grow yo :joint:

it was givin to me by a friend because it wasnt keeping up with his blue widows in a dwc system . they were all cloned from the same mother and the one i got which is in soil looks much different than what he has in dwc . the buds are already starting to form and hopefully we both recieve a wicked harvest

If its gonna stretch alot try flowering under 6500k till you see the flowers forming then switch to 2700k. I'm currently running Charlie sheen crack and that strain stretches to 2-2.5 times in size. Tried this myself on a small plant and it didn't even double in size.
The reasoning (from the ONE thread I've read) is that the 27k stimulates hormones to build the flowers up, but if there isn't any flowers the hormones go towards stem production thus a big stretch.
Also tried a 3 day dark period on a moby dick(not a big stretcher anyways) and it only stretched about 3-4 in once put into flower and I saw pistils alot sooner than normal.

Now I've only been growing for a year now so I could be way off base here but that's what I've seen on my plants

p.s. I was just gifted a blue widow from a local guy here so ill be along for the ride!!

ive read that using higher kelvin bulbs also helps in bud growth. i had a additional 2- 100 watt 6500 k in with it but had to use them for my new seedling i have (17) 8 miles high crossed with a white widow, chocolate chunk cross . i will have to get by for a minute till i can purchase more cfls

Good luck bro!!! I feel you on the $ issue tho. Best thing to do is stay within your environment limits. I tried pushing too many plants too fast and ended up with a wayyyy too crowded room. It sucked seeing all the plants without all the bud i wanted. less plants more attention helped out alot. I started blowing my yield avg out the water!! Just my two pesos tho :)

i agree 100 % on more is not better im hoping my blue widow will help fund a digital hps &mh ballast so the cfls will only be used for side lighting or maybe vegging clones . and my 17 new seedlings will be in kept in veg cycle on 24 hours till late spring and hopefully i can set them out and they start to flower and i get a super early harvest but if all else fails i can wait on them to finish till fall

I've never ran blue widow, I was gifted a rooting clone in rockwool that's still in my makeshift humidity dome. So I wouldn't want to get your hopes up. Just read as much as you can. Books and RIU are your best friend at this point, they will help you learn about the plant, how it grows, training techniques, and help you work thru problems. RIU has been a huge help just to read thru the threads and see real grows with real results.

If any, more experienced, growers or someone who's ran blue widow sees an error in my advice let me know cause its what I go by so I'd like the corrections myself!!!

No doubt bro! Maybe if you feel like going thru my comments you'll see where I thought the guy said he only harvested 9.6g when it was really 96. I commented in the thread a couple times but yeah...No big deal, just letting you know that there are a few other BW's growing here

Nice job in your garden boss! Looks like your gonna have some nice smoke on your hand here soon! But what's your Blue Widow smell like?! I got an EXTREME Blueberry phenom and its so damn nice bro!
I chopped a bud down two days ago to sample it, and it already wreaks of blueberries again even without a proper cure, and she's got mad bag appeal(covered in crystals!)

it has a very unusual smell to it almost a ferminted fruitty smell with very leafy dense buds . the smell is starting to creep through my house in the eary morning which is nice to wake up too but is most defenitly a problem . i will begin work on removing bricks from a old chimney that goes from the basement out of the roof. i am going to run 6 inch duct from my garden an maybe add a booster fan to help push the air out through the chimney.

Haha nice! I took a bud down and I'm curing it now and it's slowly bud sure coming to the dank smell(still sorta haylike), but it's still WREAKS of blueberries man!
Mine is coming down this weekend! I'll post wet and dry weights when I get them..
And I have a small DIY Ona fan in the garden with the plants, and Febreeze air effects on like every vent in the house, so whenever the air comes on, the blast of air just turn the whole house into an orgy of great smells.
The onas holding up tho. I haven't had to use my Ozone Generator at all :leaf:
