First autoflower grow! [Auto Acid]

Just got my first autoflower seed in(only bought one, kinda broke), I'm currently doing the paper towel method for germination then it's going straight outside as I don't have any lighting setups. I will keep you guys updated with pictures. I'm a newbie grower but I'd say I'm learning fast.

May 28 - Started germinating

Great, dude! welcome to the awesome world of growing. I'm pretty noob too, but I look forward to see what your auto acid will look like! BTW, when it will be finished, I need a smoking report on this one!

Welcome to the world of home grown. Been growin' for some time but started my 1st auto today also. Mine will be outdoors also but in a bucket. Best of luck with your grow, I'll be watchin'. Hope you've done a little soil work in your planting area, not just the dirt that's there.

I'm putting this auto into a big pot then possibly moving it out to my little grow area. I have about 10 plants back there, not anything special though. It's all mid-grade plants. When I transplant into soil though I usually dig a nice sized area and put in my good soil then mix it in with all the dirt that I dug up so it doesn't have too much shock, then pour a little mg quick start on it.

I'm using a 2-3 gal pot, is 45%-55% Peat moss / 45%-55% Vermiculite (also has some lime for the pH) mixed about 50/50 with some good soil that has a good amount of perlite good for a grow like this?

That sounds like a nice loose mix, and should do well.

Okay cool! I think the seed's almost ready to be put in the soil, how large should I let the tap root get on this? It's been germinating for 24 hours now and the tap root is showing just a little.

What i do as soon as i see the root show i just put it 5cm in the soil,i got a Q,i put my auto's iN really small pots they say that you should start with at least 5 gal pots but my soil is FFOF and i guess that it can burn the little seed's roots so what i did i put em in a seed starter mix in small pots i would like to kno how long will it take for em to out grow the tiny pots without slowing growth?

It's not good to transplant them, your best bet will be to cut the bottom of the pot and put it on top of your other soil, it may give it some shock when the roots get down into the more fertile soil though.

No matter what a change in soil will give them a horrible shock which means your growth will be stunted.. I've never grown an auto so I don't know how bad though. I've been germinating this seed for a little under 48 hours, the tap root has came out but only partially, it seems to be stuck inside the seed kind of doubled over, I'm hoping it comes out fine. If anything I'm going to plant it directly into the soil and hope for the best.

Well the tap root has yet to totally come out, it seems to be folded over and it's hanging out of the seed, I'm hoping it'll pop off and grow normally. I planted it in the soil and am hoping for the best.

Well the tap root was still in the same position it was before and nothing has changed. I'm hoping this seed isn't a bad one cause I only purchased one.

Put it in the soil now, if you haven't done so. Only bad things can happen to an exposed new tap root. I quit the wet paper towel method yrs ago.

Here's an easy way to cut your FFof so you can start in the final pot. 1st FFOF is very dense and should be cut by at least 1/3 with perlite, some cut it 50%. So fill your pot to about 5" from the top with the cut down ffof, and fill up around the outside to final level leaving a 6" diameter low spot in the center. Get yourself some non soil seedling starter mix without any food in it. I'm currently using Black Gold mix. It's just peat, perlite, and a little dolomite. Mix the seedling mix 50/50 with the cut down ffof, and fill the center of the pot. Start your seed in this mix and you're good to go. You shouldn't have to do anything but water for the 1st 3 to 4 wks.

You should think twice about using these products, these Emerald Triangle products have been banned in many states because of they have growth regulators in them. (kinda like steroids for plants) not even listed on their website

After it popped out it seemed like it wasn't growing at all. I threw it in the soil, I hope it grows.
