Growing is a learning experience, not to mention, suppose to be fun...
Go with your gut and have some fun..everyone can give you their 2-cents on this board, but it comes down to what you're comfortable with..

For newbies using soil..if you're concerned..get a probe moisture meter..$10 no brainer.
ok i will go with soil as yes it seems a little easier do you have any recommendations on some soil ? and yes i will have a moisture meter 100%

Moisture meeters are generally useless. Nectar #4 is my current go to for quick bag soil.

Like I mentioned in your other thread starting with Coco is fine, it's certainly easier then starting with true hydro. But that stuff about it being more forgiving then soil is absolute rubbish. Soil is about as easy as it gets, especially if it's good soil.

That aside, you should do alright with coco and that feeding schedule. Veg+Bloom makes a dry nutrient specifically for hard water but I have no idea if it's available where you are. Just remember to pH balance your nutrient solution and not just the plain water.

Dry nutrients are basically the same as bottled nutrients, just without the water in them. Personally I don't like paying for water, so I prefer dry nutrients. They are also often simpler than bottled nutrients. Both MegaCrop and Veg+Bloom can be used the whole way through a grow with no other nutrients if you wish.

As for your water, it's possible you won't need CalMag, but most people do, even in your situation. You won't really know until you start growing and see how the plant responds.

Or ... you can run a simple soil grow with an already ammended soil like FFOF ( ocean forest ) on water alone.
Autos need to feed basically for about 90 days or so , there is no need for “ feeding schedules “ or bottles.

You “ feed “ by topping the container with MORE MEDIUM ( fistful or so ) and water in at ph 6.5 .
That’s it. No measuring, no multi bottles. No bullshit.

Autos have their lifespan hardwired in , no stopping them. They begin to sex / transition with 35 days or so , some faster.
They stretch for about another 10 days doing final setup and budset. THEN ... it’s flowering. Also , most importantly....
Do not take harvest estimates as gospel , they are only guides. Believe it or not , autos mature , ripen better going a little longer than advertised, hence the roughly 90 day life span.

Soil can be one and done compared to other medium types. The biggest autos come from DWC , Hempy Buckets style grows.
You can get respectable amounts of yield from 1/3/5 gallon sizes .... yes 1 gallon bags.

Too easy to overthink these and wreck . Keep it Simple .

hey yes i understand that doing it all organic like that is the easy route and the best route for a beginner like myself. but i believe i have done enough research to get me by in a coco/perlite mix and when to feed and what to feed at what time and what basic deficiencys to look for.i i have heard soo much that coco produces better quality overall and better yields i know i shouldn't expected anything to crazy for my first try but iam kinda down to make the effort and learn how to grow with coco after after everything i have heard about it and how it can be a stepping stone to hydroponics also i think im about ready and know what i need to peruse.
what is dwc if you dont mind me asking ?

Nectar One Shot is what I run for slow release. The owner has a little video about using One Shot on autos.

You can mix one shot in when starting then topdress around when start seeing flowers, can pick up your choice of liquid or dry feed, pick up tea blends, fish hudrolysate, lots of options and ways to go about feeding.

I run pretty much knf/organic/no till with compost, castings and good mulch. So not a huge help.
I've had good success using nectar One shot- dry slow release. Add some when first mix up your soil, too dress around when flowers start. It's simple.

Look , you might be overthinking it. Adding a scoop of FFOF on top of container soil at specific intervals simply “ recharges “ that base soil. FFOF will last about 5-6 weeks alone.

You can also get a dry fertilizer and add a Tblspoon or so ( depending on container size ) ..
“ scratch in to soil “ , then just water in. Dr.earth Flower Girl , Dr.Earth life , Gaia green , Happy Frog fruit and flower , Megacrop are but a few options.
