First auto grow attempt

How cold does it get in your room during the dark hours?

It's winter in the North East, it's been mild so far, but it's winter nonetheless. I live with my gf, who is from Southern California so she usually blasts the heat. All in all, I'd say when the lights are off in the closet it probably drops down to 70.

My room drops to about 55F every night which is colder than I would like, not sure if it's impacting the plant growth but they seem to be doing okay.

I've considered a heater or just going with 24hr/day light, but don't want to spend the extra electicity unless I have to.

If it drops only to 70 you good man, no worries. I think there should be 10-15 degree difference in temps with light on and off.

You should be fine with 70 degrees. Also even at 55 at night will be ok. It's not cold enough to hurt, only give a nice purple hue to the leaves.

Purple will look nice, I'm in to that. What about adding more lights after the grow cycle started? Could that shock the plant and possibly harm it? I wish there was a way to have something water my baby automatically, I'm taking a 9 day trip in January and I hate relying on someone to keep my plant healthy. I can't wait to see her grow into her new pot, it looks too big for her at the moment, but her roots are long, I think maybe by week 3 she'll start fitting. Man, is this exciting.

You can add more lights whenever, more light the merrier the plants will be

More lights is always good. Aim some cfls at the under side. Those tiny buds need light too..

Add Mylar around the grow area if you haven't yet. I forgot if you did or not.

It's crazy, every day when I check on her, she grew noticeably. Addicting.

Looks like you're off to a good start. I'm growing some lowryder 2's right now and it looks like we're maybe a week apart. My journal is in my sig if you want to stop by for a look. Anyways, good luck with your grow! This is a very addictive hobby.

I checked your grow journal out, I liked your setup. Way more set up than mine, maybe one day I'll get more involved, but for now CFLs will do. I rent right now but I'll be buying in about a year, God willing. Once I buy I'm def gonna trick a closet out. Good luck in your grows, definitely the most addicting hobby I've ever had.
