First attempt at sog.

Hey all. Im currently constructing a 5'wx12'dx7'h grow room in my basement. Was thinking 2 1000w hps & 1 1000 mh, all vertical, mylar'd walls, portable a/c unit in room, c02 enrichment, exhaust. Going to be using soil. So Im wanting to test my luck at sog this time. The qustion's I have is wheather to veg for a few week or just through them straight into flowering? What size plant is best suited for the room size? What size pots? should I do more, smaller plants? Should I do fewer, larger plants? Any advide is awesome. Thanks in advance.

no expert on sog but sog is many small plants grown tightly packed so as to avoid veg time so if you go vegging for several weeks you aint gonna want to many plants or else theyll just end being cluttered up.where im from the laws dictate what most people do because if you grow only a few plants its illegal but not considered criminal so we grow large plants and veg them for a long time , what are your laws they might be another thing to consider, id check out a few of the grows people have done where theyve flowered straight from clone no veg just roots then flower. see what you think of how they turn out , you could figure out from that what you want to know, you might decide you want to veg for a week or two and grow a few less plants less close together.you'll also be able to figure out what spacing youll need between each plant. no better way to find what you want to know than by checking out others who have already done what your planning to do and take what you like and leave what you don't . g luck.

and sorry i should have said that its up to you how many plants , how big etc they all work just personal preference and circumstance the size of your room u could do either .

I use 4 - 8 plants per 4x8 sog table. With 2-1k lights. Veg for around 2 - 3 weeks. Monsters I tell ya monsters!

if your trying to fill the entire space with plants then you need to make sure you have a way to access all plants. I would run that foam hose or get a big bug spray can that you pump to water. You can put an aisle of movable pots down the center or something to make sure you can access if needed. Just speaking from a nightmare grow I did, 6' wide by 10' deep, couldn't get to the center plants and a hermie ruined a lot of my bud.

Yes, should not have assumed you'd assume. They are in another, smaller closet at the moment.

Im using white widow, strawberry diesel and chemdog. Anyone want to take a guess on yield?
