First 6K Indoor Grow, Bodhi and TGA organic soil grow.

Yea, half my garden is crossed with bohdis Dream lotus. Its crazy how healthy they all are. The DL crosses to get a bit leggy, but I don't mind as even the bottom stuff gets enough light thru the canopy to make some good nugs. The bodhi / delicious seeds critical sensi star crosses I have both outshine the other genetics I have run.

I to have had mites/gnats from FFOF and HF...sucks ass to have the soil bring in pests! I more notice though that as their companies have gotten bigger the quality has gone down, the wood chips are larger, and it looks more like bark. I been using black gold organic now as my base for super soil, and seems to be a bit more consistent. Needs a bit extra perlite as compared to FFOF/HF though. Although were I live now it can be hard at times (especially now that its winter) to find the black gold organic. When I do though usually the 2 cu ft bags cost a buck or two less then then 1.5 cu ft bags of FFOF or HF.

Ok I have a random house of funk plant, should I chop and reveg it? Looks to b the strongest plant in the garden:/ don't have a clone lined up from it and it's got to b bodhi roots... Day 45 or so

Thats a sexy bitch! I would reveg or atleast try to. Not every plant will reveg after a full flower run

Without ego, I gotta say...I squeezed the nugs and they are rock hard. Literally everything in the room is harder than anything I've seen in my most robust 2x600 flower room. Haha not hard to say after pumping 6k since 10/12. Still 100% organic, keep in mind this is a surprise room, next couple batches pulls out way more surprise wtf's. And hopefully less duck ups.

Week 6. Can't wait to chop dry and weigh. Dec 14ish will b the day

Papapayne I have been using black gold as my base and seem to feel the plants don't veg as fast as roots original but roots as carried gnats for me and has so much perlite in it. Is there anything u add to your vegging plants that are in the black gold? R u suing supersoil also?

I add in bone meal, blood meal, fruit bat guano, sea bird guano, earthworm castings, and every time I transplant from solo cups to 1 gallons to final pot size I add some myco right around the roots. I feed my garden AACT usually 2x a week.

I find the rate of which they veg is more about the wattage you run in veg, and how ideal the temps are. Cold slows them down a bit, and its night and day difference comparing t8s to MH.

Alright were 12 days out from harvest and have been battling powdery mildew on a few plants. 5-6 of them needed a haircut and some milk spray to keep it at bay. Put in a 70pt dehumidifier to get the humidity down to 30 or so. It's hard not to panic and chop everything but 10 more days or so and we will b there. Aaaaargh!

What brand dehumid did you get? I been wanting to get one, just haven't bitten the bullet yet

I just grabbed the biggest one they had at Home Depot . It draws 7.4 amps though it was an emergency so I didn't get the one I wanted. There's a company that makes a line that is very efficient. It's been a while and I forgot what brand it was. Mine is a ge energy star rated. It keeps filling up so it's working I'm pretty positive this won't happen again.

It was like 260 out the door, almost got a 30pint model but I figures go big on it. Fingers crossed that no more mold spreads

Humidity has been holding tight around 30-35%. This thing is ripping along but who knows how long it will last. We still have some fine tuning with the drain hose because that sh@t fills up quick! Temps have been tits 78-79 lights on, 64 lights off. This dehumidifier pumps out a bit of heat so 1 small heater keeps the room good when lights are off.

If I could build the room again, I would start with an ac/dehumidifier/heater unit and build the room around that. No hoods bare bulbs 600s hanging vert. Then I would crank the dimmable ballasts up to 660w. Add 600s until your temps are dialed in.

However, this room is finally getting dialed in, in spite of a few hiccups, I'm beginning to feel like it will be ok. Fruity chronic juice is having a crazy purple color change I didn't expect. The green python from bodhi is a great surprise , and the powdery mildew has been at bay.

Also, I've learned shitloafs about organic soils, practical learning that can't be shortcutted. Next batches will be nute free until we switch to hydro. I love organic alive soil tho! Maybe my personal shit will remain hardcore...ahhh.Freakin medusa here is Black Cherry Soda. She is very cherry

AACT is Actively aerated compost tea...basically air pumps, earthworm castings, compost, humic acid, molasses as the base then usually some type of guano or fish meal or kelp meal. It basically breeds the bacteria for the soil. plants LOVE it

Like I said a few times .. You need a mini split. My mini split is an AC and a heater and I get upwards of 30 gallons from it dehumidifying. So sAves me power, the dehumidifiers only have to turn on when lights are off. If your room is sealed with co2 and no fresh air exchange there would be no need for heaters. Those small space heaters use more watts than your dehumidifier I'm sure. There are brands like dri-eaz and others that work well and are more efficient, but your going to pay a premium. My 124 pint dehu was 1700. You said that your humidity is now at 30 Percent.. This is going to work against you .. Like I stated before. Powder mold is more triggered from drastic fluctuations in humidity. If you were at 70.. And you brought it down to 30.. I would consider that drastic. Plus 40-50 percent is optimal for ripening buds. Trying to over compensate for your prior screw up is not going to help. If you already see powder, in 10 days time you will most likely be covered. You need something like serenade or some white shit called mildew cure. These are safe to use, but before you harvest spray with powder wash from npk. Make sure to clean your room very well after the batch, powder mold is hell and likes to come back. Best of luck to you with your harvest

The reason for this thread is just to document how it goes down for people who think they can go medium. Yeah there are hiccups. I've been a hobbyist for a long time, and there is a big curve taking it to the next level. We're all in our own journey, the purpose of this thread is just pedagogy.

@papapayne , thx for the clarification on AACTs. I've been starting to experiment with them but wasn't clear on the definition it just seemed like a no brainier since I already have all these garbage cans full of ph ballanced water sitting around. In a lot if ways I'm going to be really sad to move away from organic soil
