First I want to say I didnt know where to post this..

These are my seccond batch of clones Ive ever cut and I dont want to lose this whole batch too.

I have tried 1 method of cloning and am changing it up. I just got a humidity dome and heatmat+controler. I couldnt get it to get humidity with cup of water so I ended up putting a layer of water at the bottom of the tray and that worked great.

*Room temp is 70
*Root temp is 75-77
*1/4 strength cloning solution on bottom of tray
*Slight mist of ph'd ro water on clones.
*No mist on humidity dome needed with layer of water on bottom, it stays nice and wet!

My worry is that light+water will = algae....I dont want that...

Should I,
*Put layer of hydroton covering the water?
*Remove all water?
*Put water in cups to isolate it?

I think personally I would get rid of the water and just mist it a couple times a day if it wre me. I currently have going a group of clones on a heat mat under a small 16" flouro tube and all i do is mist em a few times a day. Seems to do the job for me.

Hey bro, went back and got this link to a useful thread I found here called Cloning as easy as 1-2-3. Dont have to follow it but its good info and an easy read.

thats alot of humidity and the algie, can be kill with H202 in a spray bottle and just spay the top of the root cubes if you get algie.

i will tell you i had 100% success with my bubble cloner and i did not use a humidity dome, and it was particularly dry 30-35% and about 75-80F. it took a while for them to root, but they stayed green, i figured out that it was because i was providing the leaves with too much moisture from foliar spraying. they just sat there and looked perfect for a week until i stopped spraying after reviewing what i did the last time i clones, and within 3 days roots were sprouting. the humidity dome is hype, spray em a couple times the first day or so, but thats all you really need. they might look sad for 24 hours, but cloning isnt really all that hard and you dont need hot and steamy conditions... most of the time my rh was 30% btw.

get rid of the water. The system wasnt designed to have a puddle of water in the bottom. Just lightly spray them as needed. Before bed , before u go out all day put the cover on.

i have tried it both ways: water at the bottom of the tray, and misting the leaves. Both have worked for me, maybe I just got lucky but from my experience as long as the clones were cut properly, in contact with rooting hormone, and taken from a healthy plant then they should turn out fine. yours look like they should do just fine. As defcom said it really isn't that hard. Best of luck to you.
