Fireplace alcove/s discussion

Hi,

Long story short. Been a grower in the UK on and off since 2012. But not done so since pre lockdown. As I get older and the risk to reward of a tent or two at home grows. And the fact I no longer rely on it for any income. I would enjoy picking it back up but discretely. As a hobby. (Enough fir me and friends)

Lets say you had two alcoves with a secret door. Barely a foot wide but 6 foot tall. One each side of the fireplace. What results coupd be expected.
Direct 12/12 from seed? Or have one side to do short blasts of 18/6 then do a mini scrog?

Im intrigued. Ideas welcome. (Images are not of me but for reference)

1 foot square space? Or is it 1 foot by a couple feet like the pics? You could definitely set up a grow in a space like that. There are all.kinds of micro and closet grows that have been done. Just need to make sure you can dial the environment. Super small space will heat up with the quickness. Exhausting heat and humidity will be a battle but definitely doable. Also, flipping early and staying on top of training will be important as well. 6' tall is plenty of vertical space.

It's gotta be bigger than one sqft, man. He's sitting in the alcove in that second pic! That's TONS of room for a plant or two. Especially in a SOG style setup. He's got a lot of head room, too. Phenos that are prone to (or can be trained to) one big tall cola would be killer in there. You could even do a veg alcove and a flower alcove.

Do you still use the fireplace? If not, repurposing the flu into an exhaust duct would be sweet for discreet exhaust. I love these kind of quirky, home brewed setups. Makes for a fun Redneck Engineering solution!

If that were his pic, I'd agree 100% But since he said it wasn't him, I assumed it's not his pic. That's why i asked for the specifics.

Yeah footprint is similar to images. 1ft wide and about a meter in length. Height isnt an issue.
Venting into the chimney stack seems like the way to go. I expect it needs to be a well aired out LED job.
Ive only ever grown Cheese, Ak47, big bud and g13s pineapple express (my personal fav)
So many possibilities. Straight to 12 12 from seed with something like a couple big bud, top down lighting. Or perhaps one sog, or even vertical on back wall with LED in the fake door panel. Hmm.

Venting fresh air in discretely is the problem here I think.

Exactly my thinking, theppotential to really customise it there. And to hide it too us fun. Thats where im stuck. Venting in discretely while akso hiding any light/sound.
SOG/SCROG is interesting. Vertical perhaps. Led panels on the opposite wall. Small fan. Vent into chimney.

I do like the idea of one veg one flower. Or at least a mother kept alive on one side with a few clones on a cycle ready for a vertical scrog. Perhaps prepped on a vertocal panel ready to swap over.

Its fun to plan. Like my first grow the planning was one of the best bits. New set ups always take me back to the first experience of planning a grow room.
