You are only using CFL's. They Will not get hot enough to burn down anything. Except for your plants if they reach up to it.

You will be perfectly safe. Just make sure you water those babies before you go.

Now if you were using a HID light, I would not suggest it.

why not? where the hell are ppl supposed to use HIDs then? in pyrex glass grow boxes? LMAO
Hey buddy!

I've got a 4ftw x 4ftL x 6ft height Wooden grow box and I run 1 400w HPS and another 200w CFL in it and I have no problems.

Although for exhaust and intake you can take a small 1/8 drill bit and drill some air holes on the walls of the box behind the fan and then on the opposing side of the box to give it some fresh air circulation from outside the cabinet. That's just a suggestion but if your light schedule is on at night you may have some serious light leaks. If your run your lights during the day and the room with the box is completely dark at night it just might work for you.

As for fire, I wouldn't worry. I told you my set-up and I don't go over 82 degrees when the lights are on and that's with a HID plus CFL's.

No worries, just be sure to check all of your electrical points, any place that electricity would come to an "end" so to speak, be sure it's covered. Sparks are really your only concern.

alright, right on!

calmed the nerves

i have all electrical points capped, its just that it seemed like it got increasingly hot from the switch of rubbermaid to grow cab

i cant make any exaust for at least two weeks, i mean i am very capable of doing so it is just that my landlord is coming up this weekend and next weekend to check on the house and basically snoop around, hes one of my highschool buddies dad so i just have the feeling he thinks he can try and be my dad and walk in my room.:cuss:

i just put a dead bolt and master lock on the front of the cab so he cant get in,:finger: but light does seep from some of the cracks of the door
i have space blankets posted in there and i didnt in the rubermaid and it just seems a tad bit warm def buying myself a thermometer to check heat

but thank you all for your reassurance that im not gonna burn down the house while hes hear and im not hear to check on it :bigjoint::eyesmoke:

you're running a big risk on getting nabbed if your landlord is coming in your house. Don't trust anyone bro. You need to figure something out to keep him from knowing.

I wouldn't worry about it at all. I had a 400hps in 3 drawer dresser. I let the temp get up to 180 + degrees (no plants yet). I was just seeing how hot it would get without the fan on incase it broke or fell or anthing like that. With only CFLs I think your gonna be just fine though.

alright i made an executive decison, im gonna take ti hit on the security deposit, i added a fatttt bolt action lock to my bedroom door with the fattest padlock i could find, that makes it impossible for him to get in the room let alone my grow cab which has yet another lock on that. aint noooo way im gettin busted, unless the grow box lights on fire and firefighter bust down the door. KOBEEEEEEE:bigjoint:

blaze on, scroflake:leaf:

i love how people always think its not safe to leave hid's for the weekend, i mean shit whats the difference if your home or not, i mean its not like you sit there when you are home blowing on the light to keep it from going up in flames all day long, a properly set up light is no more of a danger when your not home than if you are home because a short or faulty equipment does not give a shit who is around, your grow is safe
