So the babies are under 125 watt cfl 4 of them. the strain is kaya gold from nirvana. This is going to be my journal, they are in jiffy cups with slits in them. i was wondering how long do they have to be under 24 light until i see the seedlings.

I don't know what type of computer you have but I think you need to lower the pixels or something. I think you have to open the pic in paint to change it. Ill follow this grow and try and learn a few tricks.

My seeds still have not sprouted. They have been under 125 watt cfl for about 24 hours. The soil seems to be drying a little bit, i am going to try and not put them under the direct light. Should i go ahead and water again or just wait a little i heard you can drown them like that?

Good news! all of them have shown some sign of life. the front one looks a little weird idk if its dying or just hasnt fully came up yet its only been 2 days. Would it be bad to take one outside and let them get some of this nice sun?

Yup. Now's teh weathers perfect to Put it in partial shade the first day or so after tomorrow, they should be okay to sit out and soak the sun up all day. Its still soon enough to get them out now and for the seedlings to take advantage of getting hardened outdoors.

If they vegg'd a week or so under those lights, I would say you have to be more careful about getting them used to the sun. Since they just popped, you'll be fine.

Okay i put one outside. How much shade should i give them i live in so cal so its pretty hot right now
The sun is so bright, that any shade will do. I was thinking the kind of shade provided by big tall weeds or right under a tree. LIke Smokekeeper said, a window sill works well too. I use window sills to root clones that I buy from the dispensary. But imo, seedlings are so resiliant, that you dont really need to baby them for them to thrive.

If you want to do a better safe than sorry, give it three hours today, 5 hours tomorrow, and then let it stay.

Looks normal and fine. Soil doesn't look too wet so that's a good start right there. You can go ahead and help the little seed jacket off with clean fingers or some tweezers.

I'll give you a piece of advice that's well worth following. IF you watered the soil all the way through when you planted the seed, then you aren't going to need to water for a few days yet. This will encourage the plant to send it's roots lower in search of more moisture which results in a healthier root system from the start. Overwatering is the NUMBER 1 way that beginners mess up at the start. You really want to let that soil dry at the top before you water again. It'll be dry on top but the bottom and middle will still have plenty of moisture. MJ doesn't need "wet" soil to thrive. It needs "moist" soil.

Anyways. Good luck man. :peace:
