Finalizing growbox setup

Hey guys, so I'm trying to finalize everything in my plans before I start construction.
Here is the box I did in Sketchup. I did both Veg and Flower versions.

Veg will have 8x 26w CFLs, Flower has 150w HPS and 4x 26w CFLs
I figure each side-light CFL fixture will have a pc fan to aid in stabilizing temps and air circulation. All PC fans will be on a dimmer switch for noise (each fan is 80CFM, probably go for 40-60CFM on dim)

Will be using the S&P TD-125 exhaust fan, probably on low power.

Does anyone see anything that jumps out at them? Anything wrong?
One of the big things I'm concerned with is my venting and air flow, how is that looking?

P.S. for those who haven't seen, here is the veg CFL light fixture (probably going to add a hood/reflector)

So, hows it looking? Any suggestions? I hope the diagram is easy clear enough to see what's going on.
Should I replace the side lights with T5's or anything? Hows the exhaust/air flow looking?
Thanks guys

it looks legit bro. the flower room looks like it can get a lil hott in there bout how would you know other then trial and error. the design looks awesome. looks like you took your time trying to plan it out. nice work

You may want two slightly smaller intakes. One on each side to balance air flow. Is that a fan blowing on the filter in flower? Not sure why. Not necessary.
Make sure the exhaust fan runs constantly to control smell as well as humidity after lights out.
Neat design on the CFL fan assembly. Using side lighting during flower should ensure a full load of bud!
Good design overall, well thought out.
Party on,
Fred

Thanks guys! I should have mentioned, this is ONE box. I am just changing the light setup from veg to flower.
As for that fan at the top in the flower mode, that's more of a fan to blow the hot air vented from the HPS light toward the scrubber, but yeah I've been wondering about that, probably just going to leave it out, which works better because I only have 3x 120mm fans. Maybe I can put an 80mm fan up there, but I'll have to see how temps go.

Good call with the 2 small holes for intake

i don't think you'll need a carbon scrubber for veg
one of my plants was stinky only 20 days from seed, so I needed a filter...

OP its looking good, but I wouldnt underestimate the heat output of the 150 hps especially if youre not using a cooltube or air cooled hood

Yeah I will have to see how temps go. I've got the Sun System 150w which does have fan powered vents in the hood, but if I have to I could probably build a cool tube of some sort for it, but hopefully I won't have to.
I've read a couple people saying the Sun System 150w is pretty good with heat and doesn't get too hot, but I've also read that they "all" get hot. I will probably just have to tinker around myself once I get the box set up and a thermometer in there

Here's a picture of my carbon filter setup. I was going to do one like yours, but I wanted more room in my box.

Picture.jpg

All I had to do was cut a small square hole in the side and then seal it up with a few screws and duct tape. The bottom section is the fan and the upper section is a small vent piece. I made a carbon chamber by using an expandable colander. Three small screws held the colander in place while I made it carbon tight with duct tape. It's working like a dream and taking up zero room in my box.

i am using it now.

definitely throws ALOT of heat, BUT, the ballast is enclosed and the vents are on top so the heat rises away from the light.

Literally, after an hour of usage, if i touch ANY part of my sun system 150w HPS, it will burn my hands. Sorry if anyone misled you to believe they run cooler than that, cause they sure don't.

Yeah I was kind of expecting that. I think, then, I will have at least an 80mm fan at the above the HPS blowing towards the scrubber, jsut so the hot air doesn't build up in a single spot.
And good news, I just found out that lightingdirect dot com is having a 10% off coupon sale until the 31st, using "spring10" - which makes the Soler & Palau only $84.24 with free shipping! Excellent timing :)

Killer setup, I like it. Now i have to build a few of those fixtures!!! Perfect for a shelf setup.

What program are you using to design that?

Thanks! I used Google Sketchup to make it. Really fun to play with! Makes designing things like this a LOT easier, especially when you're tight on space!

Awesome, thanks for the welcome! I most likely will start a journal, I will try to take pics of the box construction, but most of the journal will be in the grow itself (not sure how many in-progress pics I'll have of the box, but I will snap some pics along the way :))

I agree, well worthy of rep. You got it from me too.
