So hoe much did you spend because it takes alot more than logs... :-) not being a douche really kinda curious
I bought 40 acres of timbered land for $18,000....with inheritance from my grandparents. I cut logs for the house & sold some timber to purchase other materials...my wife had a job & I didn't...I worked on the log house....

Also, it's 100years old.....built in 1910......solid redwood........
You know if that same house was here in the UK it would have rotted and fallen down by now, we don't have wooden houses here the weather is so crap they just wouldn't last. Its a beautiful house and its all yours you are very lucky.

Thank you. Don't let my happy attitude fool you, it was touch & go for a while & I've put a lot into it. The inside has been completely remodeled, new kitchen, bathrooms, AC unit, hardwood floors, ect......

Do you truly own it??? What happens if you don't pay taxes on it does the government take it from you? More like renting from the government sounds crazy but think about it........

So those roads you drive on and in the winter do you benefit from plowing? What if there was a fire at your house who pays the guys that put that out? How about someone breaks into your house you just deal with it yourself? Got kids in a local school? Taxes suck, taxes are not used properly. But to say there is no benefit from paying them is a bit nieve. I'm guessing you're probably on a sewer line and public water?

I bet its beautiful I'm sure it was worth the hard work, I love my house we have spent a fortune on it but its where I like to be the most so it was money well spent.

You really want me to answer those questions?... My yearly auto excise tax and the fuel that's heavily taxed takes care of roads. Fire let it burn I'm insured don't need someone to save the foundation..sewer and water is on a separate bill have no problem w/ paying that.. Not to be a smart ass but if government wasn't so big and reckless there wouldn't be a need for many of the taxes we pay.... Lastly maybe I'm just upset w/ the free handouts in this country sick of seeing a third of my pay goto welfare and other handouts for people that are just lazy and don't want to work...

You should move somewhere that does not have a government. That is your choice.

My choice is to enjoy the home I have worked so hard to own free and clear and not worry about haters who do not know what they are talking about or are just mad because they have made terrible choices in their lives.
