final flush?

Hey peoples,
I'm nearing the end of my first indoor grow here. Thinks are looking good too! I was wondering when I should stop using nute's on the planties and flush 'em out. I want to give them a good ten days of only purified water but I'm not sure what they'll look like when they've only got 10 days left. Will there be some red hairs? Or all white hairs? I'm growing a few different strains right now and some mature faster than others. But if one grower say's 45 days, does that necessarily mean it will be the same for me? Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Watch each plant carefully....If you don't already have one, go and get some type of magnifier... look at the glands to determine ripeness.
Start to pay lots of attention when you see over half of the pistils beginning to wither and darken.
The globular heads and stalks of each gland will slowly turn from clear to cloudy to amber....this is the best way to determine desired ripeness.
When you begin to see the ripening develop, it's a good time to start using only pure water and forgo all nutes 'till harvest.
Good Luck

I'll tell you something, if one grower says 45 days, he's harvesting too early.

How much to flush depends on several things, what kind of medium, how often have you flushed during flowering, how often irrigated, etc. And if you use a commercial flushing solution, then it does a better job. Basically, if you watch your plants, you want to see an overall loss of color to the foliage.

Of course, this is for hydro, for soil you just stop using nutes the last 3 weeks.
