Fimming & Topping

I just want your personnal views on this subject... I have accidentally topped a plant and really loved the results. I lifted up to clean a mess and the canopy hit my ceiling strong enough to snap it almost half down..she grew out 2 main tops that were real sexy but maybe she would have been much fatter having not been topped? Diesel strain.. I also read in the growing bible that the Blueberry really reacts well to topping and will achieve best results..
Which ones do you use? Do you prefer fimming than Topping? Which one causes less stress? Which one gets better results?(or maybe this varies from strain to strain?) Which strain have you been using these techniques on and which one got better results?

I have 3 beautiful babies and I think I will top one fim one and tie one down for a monster LST and then judge which one worked best for my future grows with this strain.... Thanks yall !

FIM is a topping technique, so stress is the same. I usually grow just a couple plants so top, supercrop and lst to get nice full bushes
Training methods all bullshit just top bend tie down super crop to get your desired plant also light plays a major roll in plant bushyness u want a bushy plant with tight nodes use a mh bulb also heat when lights off can also affect stretch u want more then 1 main cola u don't even need to top the plant just tie the top over the plant will just shoot every node upwards to creat more colas

Great question! I run a perpetual grow harvesting 2 plants a week and have a ton of experience in this area. It really helps if you know the phenotype of your particular strains. Some strains, like the NL x BB hybrid I like so much, tend to grow tall and scrawny if not modified early. So I top them at 6-8 inches. Keeps the plant shorter and makes it bushier. Bushy is good = more bud sites = more buds. Other strains, like Blueberry Gum, tend to start out bushy so I FIM them at 6-8 weeks. I know I'll get the bushiness I want and the FIM job means I end up with 2-4 main colas instead of one. I don't modify autos as they are so short-lived that topping or FIMing is a waste of time.

Good luck, BigSteve.

" Other strains, like Blueberry Gum, tend to start out bushy so I FIM them at 6-8 weeks".

Should say 6-8 inches. Sorry.

BigSteve.
