FIM Pruning technique?

Hi,
I've been searching for a FIM pruning technique thread but the engine ain't so specific.. I cant find one on growfaq... maybe i'm just looking in the wrong place, does anyone know a thread? or could explain the technique to me? My pruning sucks and probably means my yields aren't all they could be..
