Hi Fellas, when do I change the carbon filter? It still catches the smell, but it looks kinda dusty. Is there a rule of thumb on n regards to lifespan?
Can I clean it with a wet cloth or something similar? If so, just with water or some sort of cleaning fluid?

It depends on how much of the capacity its running but a good one ran at the intended range should last 18 month.
Ive had them run fine for a few years, often change them out just as a precaution.

The dust cover you can slide off and put in wash.

The metal itself you can brush off or vacuum.

I have some that have been going strong for over 5 years. When they no longer get all the smell then they gotta go.

A good way to clean the outside of the filter is with a vacuum.
