File Cabinet Grow Project - Build Phase - First Timer..

First time grower here, haven't got to the growing process, but i'm almost done with my Filing Cabinet Stealth box..

So, here's where im at right now, so far everything has gone very very smooth, im currently looking for ideas on how to make the box light proof, the only areas leaking like are the cracks between the cabinet doors and the fans.

Fans - i think im going to just run a few inches of ducting tube, 6", just lay it over the fans from the outside..

Doors - I was thinking about laying some magnet strip over the cracks, easy lay on /pull off thing, makes shift light seal..

OPEN ANY SUGGESTIONS!!

The top of the box, by lights, those flaps fold down, incase i need some downward reflectionnnnn..

I was lucky enough my electronics store had some cheap fans that can be powered via usb, so getting two of those and some usb travelers adapter made power the fans easy.. light will plug directly into the surge protector aswell, so one cable should power the entire box..

I was going to make the light adjustable, but it would be easier and more efficient to just move the plant itself, it was save some space for the entire box leaving the lights stationary..

as for the panels/mylar, i just pulled it over a few cardboard pieces, keeps things nice and clean. It also allows me to take them down according to what area im working on!! or fin something need be replaced etc..

looking great! try getting more light in there by putting two Y-socket adapters into each of the sockets in the Y-socket adapter you have right now. A low wattage HPS like a 150w would be real good in there. very stealthy and nice! good luck with your grow

What about heat and odor? Worst case you could use an inline fan and ducting to mount it elsewhere I guess, pulling through a filter mounted inside.

Also how did you light proof the intake and exhaust fan ports?

BOX:

HEY HEY HEY.. So, as you can see.. my case has changed quite much.. I will eventually move to a tent, then eventually a room.. upsizing is a fucking drug!!
The old case is now used as a shelf.. though it will bust out again at a later time.

- So far this box is much better, bought it from home depot, 6' H X 2.4' W X 2' D. (Stays Cooler, Don't have to bend down to work on the plant :), etc..)

- Its a solid white inside, so only a little Mylar was needed for select light direction. (Using Mylar panels from the original Box.)

- Fans wise I HAVE A QUESTION - Those fans are 12v fans, spliced them to some adapters, and they run a bit slow.. could giving them more Voltage than their highest rating (12V) not good for them? say i boost it to like 16-18V's or something.. if possible that it..

PLANTS:

(Inorder from left to right)

- Unknown, Awesome Quality, Oregon Seed #1 (Sativa) - 3.5 weeks
- Unknown, Awesome Quality, Oregon Seed #2 (Indica) - 3.5 weeks
- THC BOMB #1 - 2 weeks
- THC BOMB #2 - 2.5 weeks

PS. sorry for the wait ladies and gents..:peace:

For what you have at the moment, those should be fine. I can't see the exact size but 2x 120mm for exhaust and 1x 120mm for intake would be fine. In terms of fan placement, probably should have had exhaust as high as possible as heat rises and had the intake at the very bottom as cool air sinks to the ground. Also, if you want, you could buy two more 120mm fans for exhaust and one more for intake and quite easily deal with a 250 Watt HPS. If you wanted, you could even buy or DIY a Cool tube and use a 400 Watt HPS in there, your plants would love you :)
