Fighting Hermies

So I have this very bomb ass Frankenstein strain of Gonja. It smells like fresh fruit and evergreens and the smoke is a good combo high. It has been passed down from a few different friends so I am not sure 100% of what it is.

So the only issue is the strain almost always hermaphrodites on me. I hate to cut it out of the garden but cant risk another grow of seeded girls.

I would love to hear from anyone that has battled Hermys in the past. Is there certain things I can try to cut this out completly or is Hermaphroditing just a traight that some plants have? Any information on the causes or resolutions to hermys would be great.

Its such a tasty strain I hate to give up on Shim with out a fight!

You could always just let it herm and then pick its balls off when ever you see them pop up.

Is this the only strain you have grown? I only ask, because if this is your first time then I would say check for light leaks.

Its usually in the strain and genetics that make them prone to hermies ( unless its a lightleak as forementioned ) If you really want to grow this stain just make a seperate area (growbox ) or what ever you like ... just away from your normal ladies . Then you can plant extra and weed the hermies out ... you will probally come down to a few that didnt hermy and finnish with those .

It is the only strain currently growing. I do think I had a light leak the first week of flowering so I solved that and hope this time around it will help. Do light leaks really cause that much problems. Just thinking with the moon light and city lights do outdoor growers get hermph issues?

moon light and sunlight are different. The light leaking into it's dark period makes the hormones that produce flowers get confused and it stresses the plant out. Stress is a big factor in herming plants.

Hello,

Some people swear by Dutch master reversal + the wetting agent.
I have used the DUTCH MASTER REVERSE on a NIRVANA PPP that threw out some NANA's.

IT WORKED!!!!!!!!

I have only had to use it on that 1 plant but none of her daughters developed NANA's so it was stress that caused MOM to hermie.
